The Hilltop Inn on Jerusalem Hill in Elmira, NY has it all. It's been in the Michael (current owner/operator) Sullivan family for decades. It has a breathtaking view of the Chemung Valley, it offers a variety of seating options AND the food is incredible. My favorite, the langoustinos and their house special, the au gratin potatoes, are to "live for".... More

I like this place. It has everything I look for in a restaurant; good food, good service in a great atmosphere and appropriate prices. What I don't look for in a restaurant is for it to be something it's not. Hill Top Inn is not a modern, experimental restaurant where the food is served as an sculpture in the middle... More

The food was par and the service was very slow. 6 couples, 5 really enjoyed their meals and 3 disliked totally and 4 said it was ok. Expensive, the view was awesome.

The bar area and view are quite lovely. However, the large dining room is just a huge room with tabes and no decor! The food is average. Some nights good, others not. Depends on who is in the kitchen I guess. If you go, you go for the view.

It's one of those experiences you just don't know where to start! :( It was my husband and my Valentine's dinner that we were looking forward to since it had been an entire year since we had a last date night alone without the kids and it was Valentine's day. I am a local and I know many people go... More

Tuesday is Liver Lover's night at Hill Top, and if you've a hankerin' for liver and bacon and onions, you can't go wrong here. Tender, moist, liver, crispy bacon, seasonal veggies, potatoes, salad, warm rolls...MMM! There's a new chef in the kitchen, and it shows. The presentation and attention to detail are impressive. If you've got any room left, I... More

A very nice restaurant with fabulous views on a seasonal basis. Friendly service with good food. A traditional location for St. Patrick's Day.

We met with the family on New Years and Easter to celebrate last year. Someone suggested Hill Top for both occasions since my mother in law loves their grasshoppers (a minty drink). They had a buffet for both holidays and their selections were less than impressive for the price. We paid $22 for the buffet and were offered less than... More
