This is a a truly fine dining experience . From making the reservation on the phone (easy) to being greeted by the two charming hosts, everything works. I have been fortunate to eat here many times over the past decade but bringing the kids and seeng them treated well merited a review. Michael Cohen is the 'Front of House' or... More

We ate downstairs and had a fantastic time. It felt like we were in a 1770 tavern, but with very sophisticated, fabulous food! Loved it!

In my view, it's the best place to eat in EH. The tavern is cozy, especially in winter. The staff is charming.

We were invited by friends to join them on New Years Eve for dinner at the 1770' House. We were thrilled, as this is a very special place and we only go there for special occasions. We had a reservation at 7:30 and we immediately got seated in the upstairs dining room in front of a fireplace. Perfect. We ordered... More

First I must say this was one of the best meals I have had in the Hamptons. My veal chop was cooked perfectly . On both occasions when we have visited the 1770 house we had a wonderful time and the sticky toffee pudding was the best I have eaten outside of London. Thanks for the wonderful evening.

We live on the East End and have been eating here for more than 10 years. This restaurant never disappoints. We prefer the dining room over the taverna. The place is like a warm hug the instant you arrive. The kitchen is fantastic. The service is seamless. The desserts are made with love on site and not bland purchases from... More

We went to this restaurant because Ina Garten said it was one of her favorites (it is near her home). Since we basically think she makes all things well, we had to try out one of her favorites. The pan roasted chicken was the best we've ever had, very moist and delicious. The beat and goat cheese salad very good.... More

We were unable to get a reservation at the restaurant so we settled for the Tavern. The tavern menu itself is very limited so we ordered from the Restaurant Menu. We have dined at the 1770 house many times and it is very good. The Tavern is small, dark, damp and noisy so I would not recommend it it diners.

One of my favorite places in East Hampton! Walk into history and be welcomed by best COSMO in the Hamptons.. We went by for a cocktail our first afternoon of a week long girls trip and made it our cocktail stop the entire time. The sitting area is so inviting you really never want to leave. Now let's talk about... More

I had, by far the best cheeseburger and fries that I have ever had. My girlfriend loved the seared scallops. The staff was very helpful and provided great service. Had mouthwatering desserts. Great atmosphere. Would highly recommend!
