We had dinner last Wednesday, Steak Night. The Rib Eye was tasteless and tough. Portion size is huge but I would have preferred a better quality smaller piece of meat. My friend ordered the Prime Rib, which was virtually inedible. Truffled Fries were just OK...better than the meat.. This was our first time to Michael's. We had heard varying reports... More

This is a quaint place off the beaten path in the Springs of EH. A nice menu with great specials and a compatible wine list. It has changed owners a few times but they all keep up the atmosphere that the locals have come accustomed too. Duck, lamb, fish all great!!!

Personally, I think the owner of an eatery should never man his/her own bar. But that is my own opinion; it just looks bad and worse, greedy. We went here recently after spending the day at the ocean. We arrived early and were seated. Unused place setting/s were removed from the table. When I rearranged my bread plate, there were... More

Your first time finding this place could be challenging... It seems as if you are driving up to someone's house. And the bar can be a real local scene of fishermen etc... (esp if you are not there in busy Summer tourist months)...But pass the bar and the fine linen-topped dining tables are best for a romantic dinner. I have... More

We ate here on Steak Night and all three adults ordered different cuts of meat. Decent sized steaks and delicious side servings. Cozy restaurant and bar with dim lighting that made for a nice evening in East Hampton.

This was a very comfortable and homey feeling restaurant. There were five ladies in our party and we were seated at a table that looks like it was prepared for a famly of 12. In the center of the room and not at all conducive for conversation, hard to hear. There were lovely booths all around us. We were greeted... More

We have been renters and owners in the area for over 30 years, and Michael's has generally been one of our reliable go-to restaurants. It has had ownership and menu changes, but the atmosphere was always convivial, the food ranged from good to excellent (depending on the night and era), and we considered it an excellent value. This was our... More

We walked into Michael's and imagined that we'd found the great "hidden" East End spot. The truth: nice enough atmosphere and refreshing to have a place with fewer of the E. Hampton crowd. That said, aside from a nice selection of wines by the glass, our dinner from start to finish was mediocre at best. Flat beer on tap. Caesar... More

2 minutes from my house! Thank you Michaels for restoring yourself to your former glory! Years ago, we ate at Michaels and had 100's of ants crawling all over our table... since that happened, we used to pass on the way to the beach and cringe. Over the last few years, the place has done a 180. All cleaned up... More

Went to Michaels' during our one-week-stay in East Hampton Spring (my wife and I, plus 2 friends). We all went for the 3-course-inner that offered great value. We found the starters to be really good (salads and asian mussels). For the main course we had the steames lobster, which was pretty good, but if I could choose again, I'd rather... More
