You take the good with the bad

Nichol's is good, but the good comes with some cons. The outdoor seating is nice, but you are basically in a parking lot. The 2 for 1 margaritas are good and made very well but the price is a scam as they are $19. Just charge $10 each and be honest with your customers. The food was good, especially... read more

We stopped here for lunch and prices were as expected for a restaurant on this part of Long Island. We kept it simple with sandwiches. They were good, but nothing special. The decor was unique, marine/harbor-like which gave it a nice feel. The service was lacking unfortunately... never was asked how food was and drinks were never refilled. I suppose... More

They don't go out of their way to impress the "Hamptons" summer crowd, but they seem to attract a nice crowd, local and summer. This year round restaurant serves up good food in a cozy and quaint building. In addition to the food they have a good selection of beers and some decent wines. Prices are very reasonable for this... Stopped in this Small restaurant just outside of East Hampton NY and was quite surprised ! We were looking to pass the time after leaving The Hamptons on a Sunday afternoon! Came upon this great place ! Split the Lobster Roll sandwich with my wife and two margaritas later ...was clear sailing back to Patchogue ! Nice way to beat... More

We had a very nice supper at this place. The sea food was very good, the portions far too generous (in that good American way) and the white wine cold and refreshing and nicely priced. The service was friendly and attentive. Yo be fair the table next too us was a bit raucous (in a drunken way!) but that was... More

Many years ago, a good friend, living in London, England, insisted that I try real fish and chips as opposed to the dried up awful tasting fish and potato chips we get on this side of the pond. She went to a local pub and brought back a tasty, melt-in-your mouth fried cod with fried fresh (not frozen) potatoes wrapped... More

After reading the review where a customer was told "GFU" and in the managements response he reiterated "GFU" to a customer I will never again go there. I am local and have been there several times it was much better with the previous owner and things can be seen going downhill with the quality of the food. Service has always... More

Hi - I am sorry if You were unhappy at Nichol's. We work very hard to make every experience the best we can. The other review that you reference is an unfair evaluation of Nichol's or the staff. Those People were Horrible, Abusive to the staff and unreasonable. When they were asked to leave the whole restaurant erupted to applause.... More

HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE, STEER CLEAR. Went here for dinner on Saturday night. Our party of 7 was crammed in to a 5 person table, but we were just happy to be seated. We ordered some apps for the table, including the chicken wings. Midway through the plate of wings, we realized that we were eating RAW chicken meat. Not undercooked, but... More

These people were a problem from the get go. We were extremely busy and I'm sorry they did not have a good time and in my opinion they had no intention of enjoying themselves or the wouldn't spend time with some individuals in that party. Although we work very hard tonplease the public you just can't please everybody. I sent... More

OK for a quick burger and beer, nothing more. This restaurant could use a little sprucing up. I'm always astonished by the number of cars in the parking lot, maybe they're first timers. I can't imagine wanting to return here.

Large portions, but quality is just o.k. and prices are a little steep for the quality of the food. Good, friendly service.
