This converted country store, turned restaurant, serves a wonderfully eclectic menu. The menu changes on each visit to this restaurant, but what doesn't change is the quality and freshness of the ingredients. They use farm-fresh ingredients, mostly local. My chicken dish was Asian inspired, while my husband had a lovely braised pork with a South American flair. A bit pricey... More

I love history, old buildings and the stories that go with them. I wish I had investigated the background of this establishment and maybe I could like it more. Because I was a guest for a special occasion dinner, I did not choose this restaurant. The menu is limited and the prices are high. Excellent service by the waitstaff....mannered and... More

It has been over 1 1/2 years since this writer has reviewed the Poolville Coutry Store. Could it live up to his "Gem" rating? The simple answer is YES and MORE. Quite simply, The Poolville Country Store is in a class by itself whether comparing to Central New York or any place in the country that this writer has been... More

The food was well balanced and the ingredients tasted fresh, as they are sourced locally. The menu changes seasonally which is always nice. One chef deals with the entrees and the second deals exclusively with deserts (at least that is what the waiter mentioned). The atomosphere is small but now too loud. Give it a try but be sure to... Yet another hidded upstate NY gem. Food was excellent, the service was efficent. Why people go to these chain resturants is beyond me. This was a very intimate setting which made for an excellent evening out.

This is a very cozy and quaint restaurant. The chef has taken great care to create a special menu that changes with the local produce. The meal I last had here was outstanding and I believe my guest would agree. Only a few minutes from Hamilton and a nice change of pace. Less then an hour from Cazenovia and Utica... More

If you are a visitor to Colgate, I highly recommend it. The food was great. I had a blueberry-cabernet bisque and pork tenderloin. This place is a gem, and I will be going back when we visit Colgate again.

So excited to visit, the place is adorable, the fireplace was lovely and the service was first rate. Very welcoming experience. But. . . the polenta fries were meh, just nothing special and I didn't find the homemade ketchup that tasty. The crab cakes were not made from jumbo lump crab, tasty enough but no lumps anywhere. The field green... More

The food was amazing, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was great. The Maple glazed duck was divine and so was the creme brule. My family also enjoyed the other dishes and we will be back. Its not very often you are able to find a gem in upstate New York. Honestly, that diner alone was worth the trip... More
