Best food north of NYC

What an amazing find in the middle of the peaceful and charm of upstate NY.. We ate dinner here 3 times and brunch twice. I was blown away, The owners are both Chefs and obviously very very good ones. Farm fresh ingredients and seafood as good as if you ate it on a dock in Maine. Wow!! Great... read more

Everything, and I mean everything right down to ketchup (if the dish calls for it), is made by Chef Charles and amazing breads and desserts by Chef Roger. They change the menu frequently and seasonally so everything is always at it's freshest and is never boring! Beautiful, quiet atmosphere in an old country store complete with some of the old... Was recently treated by my friend for my Birthday. Very nice special occasion dining. Friendly, unpretentious, and fresh menu. Well prepared with attention to detail. Home made desserts that were very much worth the dietary splurge. Limited seating, so reservations are suggested.

Tough to get reservation. Plan ahead. Close to Colgate. Food was very good. Limited seating. Surprising find.

This converted country store, turned restaurant, serves a wonderfully eclectic menu. The menu changes on each visit to this restaurant, but what doesn't change is the quality and freshness of the ingredients. They use farm-fresh ingredients, mostly local. My chicken dish was Asian inspired, while my husband had a lovely braised pork with a South American flair. A bit pricey... More

I love history, old buildings and the stories that go with them. I wish I had investigated the background of this establishment and maybe I could like it more. Because I was a guest for a special occasion dinner, I did not choose this restaurant. The menu is limited and the prices are high. Excellent service by the waitstaff....mannered and... More

The food was well balanced and the ingredients tasted fresh, as they are sourced locally. The menu changes seasonally which is always nice. One chef deals with the entrees and the second deals exclusively with deserts (at least that is what the waiter mentioned). The atomosphere is small but now too loud. Give it a try but be sure to... Yet another hidded upstate NY gem. Food was excellent, the service was efficent. Why people go to these chain resturants is beyond me. This was a very intimate setting which made for an excellent evening out.
