We went to Big Moose Station for lunch. The food was great and the atmosphere was fun (except for the feral children whose parents sent them outside to play and the game turned out to be throwing gravel at each other and the building). The only problems is that there was only one person there....tending bar, taking orders, cooking, serving.... More

We visited the Station on a Wednesday night with a party of five. The location of the restaurant is great. And, the restaurant itself, a renovated and historic 1926 train station, is fantastic. The evening special was chicken and biscuits. Several in our party ordered the special and were not disappointed. The portions were very generous - green beans, mashed... More

We stopped in for lunch while staying at Big Moose Lake. It was a rainy day, but the big picture windows lining the additional dining section gave us a nice view of the outdoors. Big Moose Station was where the vacationers arrived for their Great Camp vacations on Big Moose Lake. A carriage, and later cars/buses, transported the travelers from... More

Four adults and one child had an excellent dinner last Saturday night. All the adults ordered Prime Rib,( certified Black Angus) King and Queen cuts which were perfectly cooked as ordered rare and medium rare. They were almost fork tender and very tasty accompanied by a house salad, warm bread and our choice of starch which included mashed potato, potato... More

We used a restaurant.com certificate and had two great seafood dinners. My wife had the scallops and pasta in a white wine reduction that she said was the best she ever had. I had the broiled seafood platter. The food was very fresh, and well prepared. The restaurant is in an old train station which adds a bit of romance... More

Wife and I ended up finding out there was a train ride up to Big Moose that offered up a brunch. We hadn't done very many touristy things in years past so we thought why not. After a very beautiful train ride through the woods, and past places we never knew even existed, we ended up at Big Moose Station.... More

We rode by this place many times on our snowmobiles and we finally stopped for lunch yesterday. We were so glad we did. We were the only ones there and we ate at the bar. Great food and great service. We decided it was the best salad and best burger of the week. We will be back.

Everything happens for a reason is now a phrase I whole heartedly believe in because had my family not been subject to a series of most unfortunate events we might not have discovered Big Moose Station Restaurant in Eagle Bay, NY. A snowmobile mishap left us stranded in temps dipping below 7 degrees for hours. Our family had to split... More

Charming old train station, converted to restaurant. Delicious food, nice atmosphere. Take a step back into yesteryear and enjoy excellent food, service, wines and full bar.

Big moose lake is a bit off the beaten path and the road to the restaurant is long from Route 28, but by the time we got to Big Moose Station we were ready for a stop. The railroad is being brought back from ruin and promises to be a nice scenic tour and the restaurant is a natural stopping... More
