The Dark Horse never fails to please. We were here mid-week which gave a welcome relief from the packed house that this restaurant usually has. Took our two teenagers here for my birthday dinner and everyone left raving about their meal. Won't be our last visit!

Good menu, good service, great food. The facility felt a little crowded at first but we became used to the cosy feeling.

When we arrived at 6:45 on a Wednesday, the place was packed. It's in a small strip plaza that we missed at first. We had a dickens of a time finding a place to park and once we got inside, we knew why. We waited at the bar for about 30 minutes for a table. During that time, we were... More

I've been to this tavern several times and am never disappointed. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is fun. It's very small so get there early if you want a seat! The wait staff works together which is nice. You can ask anyone if you need something and they are more than happy to comply. Andrew served us the... More

I grew up in DeWitt when Dark Horse was The Dark Room. Quite a change! Dark horse has a great bistro/bar feeling. The main dining room is separate from the bar. There is the happy hum of people, but not annoying. I ordered the eggplant Napoleon. It was traditional eggplant parmesan, also with spinach and zucchini layered in. It was... More

The Dark Horse Tavern is a very unassuming bar and restaurant located in a strip mall on a busy road. The food is always good, however, with a mix of regulars and occasional diners. The atmosphere is noisy since the tables surround the bar. On a recent visit, we enjoyed friendly service and a very good meal of eggplant napoleon,... More

We came for a business lunch and arrived to a packed house. While waiting for a table at the bar the bartender kept us in the loop as to when we would be seated. Other people showed up but the staff kept track, and we were taken in order, always a nice touch and an indication of how well the... More

I have been to the Darkhorse many times to eat and every time had a good meal. The service is always good and the help always friendly. They also always have great daily specials. This is the perfect place to stop for a quick bite to eat or a nice meal.

Date night last night, I had the pork ribeye (best pork ribeye I've ever had) my wife had the bacon/maple salmon whichever as excellent as well. Desserts were to die for, wife had the chocolate PB pie and I had the junk in the trunk chocolate cake...both were enough for two. Excellent meal, can't wait to go back!

My boyfriend and I had our first date here and I really liked it! Although it does get easily packed with not much space to stand and wait, it still holds it standards of great food! I love the atmosphere!
