I had the Chicken a la Hidden Café. It came with chunky mashed potatoes and asparagus and choice of salad, all good. Chicken and mashed potatoes were particularly generous portions. Wife had Grilled Salmon Salad -- enough for two meals. Chef-owned, and it shows in all the right ways. Very popular place on weekends, although we went early and were... More

This is our favorite local restaurant. It is really hidden, but worth looking for at the back corner of Hanaford Plaza on Delaware Avenue. The food is prepared by a chef who cares about each plate. We especially love the Sampler Salad, and we have had the best steak ever here. This is a small, intimate restaurant where you can... More

I used to love this place, however I've heard that it's under new ownership and the quality has gone downhill. I used to order appetizers and food to go. The last time I did this, I ordered just prior to closing. That might account for the leftover quality of the food. The shrimp was burned and the pita was hard.... More

Had reservations for 5:30 PM on a Friday night. Arrived early and was seated promptly. Ordered appetizers of baba ghanouj and felafel and both arrived with lots of hot pita triangles. The wine special was a Pacific Rim Riesling for $20 but decided to order a sauvignon blanc as the riesling was on the sweet side. Hubby ordered chicken kabob... More

It had been at least 3 yrs since the last time we had had lunch here. The menu is the same with daily lunch specials. Our main reason for stopping here was for their classic hummus. It is creamy and full of garlic topped with one pitted Kalamata olive and served with pita points. Oh, so delicious! During this visit... More

I have enjoyed many meals and the convenience of living close. However, I am looking for a new standby. I don't mind waiting for a meal. The appetizers are still great. and the the wait staff is gracious. However, the overuse of salt, the disappointing hot house tomato slices and the long run on the menu options. If you are... More

I have been to the Hidden Cafe 3 times while visiting family in Delmar. Service has always been decent and prices fair. Unfortunately the food (and its presentation) has varied drastically. I don't know if the chef was different on each visit and this is the result. I want to love this restaurant, I really do.

We live near the Hidden Cafe and often get take-out when we've been too busy all day to want to prepare food ourselves. We have our favorites and the consistency has always been comforting. Over the past year, we've had a couple of bad experiences and last night was disappointing again. We had worked hard and decided a couple of... More

First, you must love garlic to eat here - they use a lot of it and it is awesome! Next, if you are looking for ultra fast food - go elsewhere. It takes a little longer here because everything is super fresh! My personal favorite is the Chicken a la Hidden Cafe - delicious! But everything here is wonderful. Don't... More
