Nice cozy restaurant. High quality fresh food. You can either have the full hibachi experience or a casual meal at a small table.

We were very good customers until tonight. The chef was terrible, rude, added too much pepper to the rice so you could not eat it and it was raw. I asked for well done chicken and he served it to me raw. When I told...him it was raw he starting cleaning the grill. The portions were cut in half and when I said where are the veggies the Manager said they were just for decorations. The Manager was not very sympathetic but after arguing she finally took off my dinner. We will never be back. P.S. their air conditioner did not work.More
I hate to be Debby Downer, but I have been going here for many years, and it is never anything more than average. Service is spotty, and getting your take out order correct is hit or miss, but that being said, the place is frequently...crowded, the Hibachi tables are very popular for families and groups, and people seem to enjoy the sushi. Kitchen meals leave something to be desired, so I'd stick to the sushi, but at least you have the option for Japanese food in town.More
We almost always sit at the Hibachi tables and enjoy delicious food and libations. Their sushi rolls are a wonderful addition to the meal and the experience of seating and being entertained and fed very well makes return visits an easy choice
I visited this restaurant with my friends at lunch time. The quality of food was great. Very cozy interior. I love it.
Whenever we want a quick bite that we know will always be good, we go here. The sushi is great, the wine pours very generous and the service spotty but who cares! It's our local regular spot when we don't want to cook and want...a good meal every time!More
Reliable delicious food, great staff and very nice owners. Great with special orders. One of the better places to eat in Croton.
Ordered food for pick up, told 35 min and had to wait one hour at the restaurant after the 35 min. Was told for an hour that the food was coming out. People walked in the restaurant, sat, ate and left before I ended up...getting my take out order. Embarrassing and not worth the wait. The food was not good.More
Went to Samurai last Saturday night and had a very good meal. We were a group of 9 and we ordered about 10 specialty rolls, a few appetizers and saki. The service was great and the bill was quite reasonable. Food tasted fresh. Besides sushi,...they have Habachi tables as well. Don't know about that aspect of the dining.More
This was quite literally the one and only time I have not enjoyed a hibachi meal. I suppose it's priced a little more cheaply than other Japanese steakhouses in the area ($20 for a steak dinner), so maybe I shouldn't be surprised, but it was...awful. We asked for medium rare steak, but the chef started shooting the sake into people's mouths and I guess lost track of time. My steak was well done, and terribly salty. All the food was horribly salty. The first batch of noodles was thrown out because the lid came off the soy, but if you'd told me that was what happened to the batch we ate, I'd have believed you. We also had the soft shell crab tempura which was good actually, and the gyoza which were just ok. On a positive note, and the reason for the 3, the chef was very nice and entertaining.More
My 19, 16, 11 AND 8 year old choose this - hands down - over the other Hibatchi places in the area. We've hosted a few birthday parties here too. My oldest (who is rather picky) loves the sushi here. I have a sodium restriction,...and the chef was able to make me a tasty meal that ddn't get me sick (even after eating too much!).More
Hard to find a Sushi place in the Hudson Valley that does not disappoint. Samurai Sushi is the hidden gem we searched for years. Nice and clean, excellent service and outstanding sushi quality, moderately priced. Don't be fooled by the hibachi grill, these guys are...truly making nice sushi.More
We are not fans of the hibachi scene, shrimp-tossing thing. Ask for a table away from the hibachi grills and order sushi or other 'traditional' cooked food -- you won't be disappointed. Impeccably fresh, beautifully prepared sushi and sashimi. Service can be hit or miss,...but our server the other night didn't miss a trick, despite the restaurant being totally full and lots of tables with kids. You expect to pay for top-notch fresh fish, but our meal for 3 was quite reasonable -- about $50 per person including ample amounts of sake.More
I have been coming to Samurai for several years now since I live nearby and have a 5 year old daughter that loves both sushi and noodle type dishes. There are two sides to this restaurant, a sit down and order side and then the...Hibachi tables. The first few times I came here, several years ago, we sat on the sit down side and ordered things like Udon noodles, stir fried rice and sushi dishes. Both the Udon soups and Udon stir fry are excellent, the sushi is quite decent. I usually go for the basic rolls rather than the fancy westernized rolls, although one day, many moons ago, they messed up an order to go in my favor and I got a whole bunch of fancy rolls, like spider rolls etc....and they were pretty darn tasty! When my daughter turned 4 I decided to try the Hibachi side of the restaurant. Fantastic and entertaining! Good quality meats, aside from farmed salmon, which I steer way clear of being a former Alaskan fisherman (farming is illegal there for good reasons). The portions are pretty much way too big for humans with a normal appetite, so plan on having leftovers. When I go with my daughter, we split one hibachi dinner of her choice. It comes with soup, salad, noodles, vegetables, a choice of meats, a couple shrimp and some fruit at the end. Even splitting the meal, we always have leftovers and she eats a lot. Moving on to service, this place is always on their game to accommodate customers, they even allow parents to split meals with the kids on Hibachi dinners, which is not their policy but come on, the meals are so big. So A+ for being cool with that! The venue is super clean, bathrooms are always clean. The nice thing is you can spend a lot of money or you can get a great meal on a budget. I meet cool people every time I go there. Currently some have become regular friends.More
This restaurant has reliable fresh and good quality sushi, attentive service, and a nice and cozy atmosphere. The hibachi menu is good quality and the tables are fun too. We have ordered from all parts of the menu and always enjoyed our meal. They have...a hibachi table in the back room for birthday parties, which we did this year, and the kids had a great time. The adults sat a regular table and ordered off the non-hibachi menu.More
