Unique dining experience in the Adirondacks

The Windfall House on Tooley Pond Rd near Cranberry Lake is at a rather isolated location, but that by itself makes this an interesting restaurant. The food is very good with generous portions, and the service is friendly. So if you are ever in the northwest Adirondacks, take a drive along Tooley... read more

Hidden away, but find it! Gourmet chef, wonderful wait people, incredible and delicious food prepared by people who care deeply about what comes out of the kitchen. Worth a detour!

The Windfall Bar & Grill continues to amaze me. Stopped in over the fourth for dinner and the food was excellent. But, I didn't expect to find Hot & Sour soup as a Special offering. It was the top three I ever had. I don't know how this establishment does it; always serving gourmet food, exciting specials, and good American... More

We ate there 6/28, we were greeted by a waitress who said that it was her first day ... you're not kidding, she was clueless! I asked for a Genessee Cream ale, in a not from this planet stare, she asked me 3 times what that was! We were then met by someone from the kitchen who asked if we... More

Dear Hotrod53, I'm so sorry to hear that you were so disappointed with your recent visit to the Windfall Bar and Grill. It sounds as though your frustration lies mostly with having a new waitress. It happens, sooner or later you will go out and experience a new waitress. We do our best with training our staff, but a first... More

always great service and food... john has a way with mushrooms and pasta - and roz makes the best bloody mary's ever! worth a weekly visit to chat with everyone at the bar or in the dining room - very cozy and casual, but with 5 star food!

We had 2 dinners here recently, one Friday night in early August, then a Thursday night in late August. the first was so good, I was afraid the second would not go as well, but it was wonderful. The location is off the beaten path (for cars anways) and it is surprising to find such a good restuarant so far... More

We arrived and were seated and waited on right away by Rene who did a fine job,I ordered the jumbalaya and my grilfreind ordered the ribs. The Jumbaylaya didn't have much taste and my sweet potato wasn't cooked through. My girlfreinds ribs were good however her potato wasn't cooked neither. So all in all the waitress was great my food... More

Don't be fooled by the out-of-the way location and low-key atmosphere. The food is on par with many great urban restaurants and worth the trip! It's also a bonus that the prices are so reasonable!
