Large portion take-out meals

My mom is in a local nursing home. Once a month a friend brings her a batter fried shrimp meal with onion rings and Cole slaw. The carry-on portion is quite large, ready on time, and tasty. To eat there in the restaurant is also nice and many friends in the area love it.

My boyfriend and I recently relocated to the area and have been trying out the local establishments. I definitely do not understand the hype about this place. The food was mediocre, at best. I understand the the NY Jets have their training camp and SUNY Cortland and understand the appeal of the decor to NY Jets fans, interesting memorabilia on... More

Very fresh fish. Scallops were tender and sweet. Would have preferred a combo but it's all or nothing. Fantastic onion rings. Could do with a little more atmosphere.

I cannot tell you how much seafood or any type of fish freaks me out. I will almost never eat or even try any of it. However, my husbands family swore by Doug's and said I have to try the fish... So I manned up and did. I have to say it was amazing. It's pretty hard to get a... More

Limited menu but delishious fish reasonably priced....fish lovers must eat here if they are in Cortland. The standard fish platter is massive, hand dipped gigantic fish fillet, fries cut from fresh potatoes and fried in healthy oils, and signature mouth watering coleslaw. Newly added grilled salmon is a wonderful addition but sadly even after multiple suggestions to add a healthy side lime green... More

I stop at Doug's quite often and I have never had a bad meal. My wife loves the seafood chowder and onion rings. I like the scallops. The food is always fresh and service is always friendly and efficient. My only complaint is that Doug is a Jets fan. Go Bills!

A bit expensive for a fish fry Lobster Bisque was very good. Fries were greasy, fish was good. Atmosphere is clean light airy. Does not have a fishy odor.

We were looking for a great sea food experience, especially great fish & chips. We were disappointed. The cole slaw somewhat bitter and not well balanced. Volume good but the real problem is that we grew up in NE thus have really high expectations. The clam chowder OK and better than most in upstate NY. We went back twice and... More

Nobody does a Fish Fry Better than Doug's. I first became aware of Doug's back in 1985 when I purchased a '62 Chevy Pick-Up with "Eat at Doug's " bumper sticker on it. I have eaten at several of Doug's locations since, and many times over through the years. Excellent fresh Fish, Scallops, shrimp and homemade fries. Huge portions and... More

My wife and I had a lobster roll and a fish sandwich with fixings. Lobster bisque, seafood chowder were excellent. Everything was! Fast, friendly service in a family style restaurant that serves fresh. Loved it.
