Great food, surly staff!

Well its been a while since we have been back to this restaurant but decided to try it again and see if had improved at all? For me a restaurant presents itself to customers as soon as you walk through the door. It's that first greeting, or impression you get as you enter the door. Is it warm... read more

We visited Corning, primarily for the Museum of Glass, and reserved "blind" based on reviews in Trip Advisor. My S.O. thought it would be unnecessary to reserve, but we were lucky we had. The Cellar is a vibrant, local institution; there were a couple of families with kids, a business group meeting for dinner, and a number of couples. The... More

Lori our server was great. We did tapas and i would advise to order 1 at a time as some were very large. Dinner entrees can also be ordered in appitizer/tapas sizes. Thats a plus.

Ate here with two other couples. We had reservations and were promptly seated. A menu for everyone. Plenty of small plate options as well as full meals. We particularly liked the half portion entree option. Food was very tasty and well presented. An iPad based wine list was entertaining. Ice cream was in house made and special. Service was accommodating.

Lots of interesting small plate entrees to make a satisfying meal for two to share. We ordered the lamb lollipops(3) French trimmed, bone in ribs, perfectly prepared, could have eaten 3 more! PEI mussels in a savory broth served with focaccia were tasty. Ask for additional foccacia to soak up the broth. The duck fat fries were crisp & hot, with... More

This has become our go to place in Corning . There is a huge list of starters , very similar to a Tapas Bar . After everyone gets a different starter we share while having a nice bottle of wine and then do a half order for our main dish , total enjoyment

This restaurant could be so much more. The hostess seemed apprehensive about even looking at us to begin with. To get anyones attention was difficult to say the least. This was the same issue with this restaurant months ago. The food is good but expensive, you wouldn't mind spending the money if you had good service. Disappointed.

Made reservations for two using Open Table for August 7th. Was pleasantly surprised to get a call from the restaurant shortly after making the online reservation confirming the reservation and asking if it was a special occasion. I was a bit late and my dining companion was already seated. The extensive wine list was already on the table (it's on... More
