The reservations two weeks before the busiest time of year in Cooperstown was helpful in getting served on time. Atmosphere was colonial Williamsburg with a upstate New Yorker flare. Food was very good to excellent especially dessert- a small round superb cheese cake with berry compote. All four at the table enjoyed the fare in air conditioned comfort; Rare for... More

Among the dozen or so hamburger-and-hot-dog eateries in downtown Cooperstown, Alex and Ika really shines. It's an adult restaurant with very good food and service. You can count on enjoying some sophisticated dishes, along with comfort-food selections. Don't miss the fries with chipotle aioli dip. Tip: Get a reservation early!

It would be better if you went to the corn dog place down the street. The hostess might be the rudest, most incompetent woman I have ever dealt with -- and I travel and eat out frequently. First, at 3:00, my husband passed by to see if we could move our reservation earlier. She said no but it was incredibly... More

We stopped here for lunch during our Cooperstown Dreams Park week. It's near Doubleday Park. You can see the sign from the main drag but it's located on the side of a building. We each got some gourmet sandwiches. They were all quite wonderful. They came on the freshest bread. I also ordered the fingerling fries. Those were the best... More

We ate lunch here twice because of close proximity to our hotel. The service was good and menus choices excellent. I had fish tacos twice because I thought they were excellent.

First, if there were a rating between 'average' and 'very good,' I would have placed this joint in the category. It needs to be stated that the food offerings local to Cooperstown are rather poor, and 3 different locals advised us to dine at Alex and Ika. The menu is interesting and different for the locale. My partner and I... More

It always puzzles me why restaurants that are supposed to be good, have a terrible selection of wine. The only Cabernet on the list here was one from South Africa. Really? I chose the Malbec which is usually consistent and decent. It was. My girlfriend had the fish tacos and like others, loved them. I chose the Steak Frites. Not... More

We had a great meal here before taking in the Glimmerglass Music Festival. Shared the plantain and goat cheese salad and I had the shrimp and prosciutto penne alfredo pasta. My companions had bacon wrapped pork loin with cherry sauce. For dessert, we shared the chocolate chocolate port thing (the actual name of the dish) richly decadent. Wine was very... More

If I could have given a rating between poor and average, I would have. The menus and prices you see online are not current. I have eaten here on every yearly visit over the past 10 years of visits to Cooperstown. But the most recent go-round was not good. Yes, the bar is small but cozy, and we sat there... More

My wife and I stopped in to this nice place in Cooperstown. Wine choices were good as well as the prices. My wife had the fish tacos and I had the goat and pig grill cheese sandwich. Both were very good and a nice portion for an easy and relaxing dinner.
