After spending several hours up the road at the Baseball Hall of Fame, the Doubleday Café was a cozy place to stop for a break while wandering main street. The food was fantastic (really good burgers) and the service pleasant, friendly and unrushed. They catered really well with food allergies and substitutions.

This place is on main street in the home of baseball. Small, but lots happen there. Nice little bar with lots of local beer selections. Nice menu with daily specials. Historic general store converted into a restaurant. Great burgers, sandwiches and dinners. Breakfast is also great. Service is up close and friendly. Great tasting, and liberal portions. We eat there... More

I have been here for breakfast and for lunch. It's always been slow service, and okay food. The tables are close together and there isn't any sound proofing, so when it's crowded it can be noisy. The prices seem high for the portions.

Perfect spot for a full meal or, a quick snack while shopping in Cooperstown. If you need a "break" from all the shops and museums, this place is for you. The food is good, the beer is cold and the staff are welcoming and friendly. Seems to be very popular with "locals" which is always a good indicator of a... More

The meals lack some TLC... Boring. Staff is pleasant and ambiance is great ! Worth it if you are at the bar and enjoying a good beer...

We were in Cooperstown to visit the Fenimore Museum and planned to have lunch at someplace along the lake. BUT the were all closed. The staff at the museum said they all close after Columbus Day. they suggested going downtown Cooperstown. The selection was not that great. Some restaurants were open only for dinner. We parked and started to walk... More

We had lunch at the Doubleday Café on our recent visit and found it to be excellent. There were many menu choices of all sorts, including several vegetarian options. I tried their veggie burger - made fresh on-site - and it was delicious as was my side of cole slaw. My husband had the chili special which came with a... More

Great place to get a bite to eat. We stopped by for lunch during a visit to the Baseball hall of Fame. Good service and a delicious meal. Lots of food choices. I definitely would go back again. Happy we happened upon this place.

We ate here in August of this year several times for breakfast. Food was great and the service was really good. It can get very busy but they seem to move the crowd through very efficiently. Would definitely eat here again.

Had the hot dog and fries and they stayed warm the whole meal. That is very important to me. Server was good, staff were all very friendly. Enjoyed our time there.
