Lunch in the Garden of Eden

Yes, it is a beautiful setting: flowering plants, standing water fountains, and tropical music piped in, but the terribly slow wait service was a real detract ion. 30 minutes wait for drink orders, 30 minutes until the drinks came and we could finally order lunch. Beautiful setting, and the presentation of the food is also beautiful. Can't remember the name of the sandwich that my husband had, but it had apples, camembert, etc., and it was DELICIOUS. I had the quiche which was also wonderful. Very friendly staff. Would love to be there sometime for one of their harvest dinners on Wednesdays.

Two couples after a morning at the Farmer's Museum inn Cooperstown. Had made 1:15 reservation 2 days before. Arrived about 1:20 and immediately seated. Then waited 20 minutes for someone to come by for dink order. 3 orders of iced coffee which was good, but not great, and an lemonade. 10 minutes before they took food order. Served at 2:30;... More

Lovely cafe sitting within a greenhouse atmosphere. The plants and vegetation all around you are for sale! I would have given it 5 stars, but the wait staff isn't very attentive, soup came way late and was followed immediately by entree. However, if you have to wait too long for your food, there isn't a lovelier place to wait. We... More

It was the attraction of being able to eat among a decor of living plants that brought us to Origins. As soon as my boyfriend and I stepped in we were greeted and seated; we took a table in the corner by one of the windows with succulents, which are a favorite of mine. We ordered the raspberry lemonade for... More

From the pretty parking lot (could be bigger) to walk to tables to setting, this is a really lovely place to eat. Food is great, all around, though the hours vary so check ahead if it's open and which hours the day you're going as they do run out of some items. It's still very worth the substitution of something... More

This place is certainly unique and after visiting Carefree Gardens and having a late lunch at the cafe, I understand why it has such a high rating. You'll dine among hundreds of plants, have tasty and creatively prepared food at reasonable prices, and enjoy terrific, friendly, and polite service. As we dined, we both agreed that Origins Cafe reminded us... More

Dana and Kristin provide wonderful healthy food in a lovely garden setting. The food is from local, sustainable farms and organic when possible. They just keep getting better every visit.

The setting of this cafe is the very best part of it. Being in Carefree Gardens reminds me of being in Mexico. The plants are very lush and beautiful. The food is vegetarian - health food oriented. The service can be spotty and slow.
