Today was my first time to City Island, attending an architectural and history tour there. Prior to that I went to Artie's for lunch. I've traveled extensively, and honestly, I can't remember having such a great lobster sandwich! Needless to say, I felt fantastic today. I even wondered whether it was because of the delightful tour...or the truly delicious lobster... More

Food here is very good ... Everything in this restaurant is very good as far as food... the food taste great, serving sizes are very good, you can't ask for more anywhere on the island... They have good selection of food specials... The bar area is nice to stop by and have a drink... The owner is very friendly who's... More

Visited on July 30, 2014 and had the Broiled Captain's Platter because it had a lot of different types of seafood - scallops, butterflied shrimp, fish and clams. I was underwhelmed by the food. The service was so-so and the food was just OK. But. . . I had a martini with it and they have jalapeno stuffed olives. Those... More

Artie's offers seafood, pasta, and grilled meats so there is always something for anyone to order. Food is good, especially the Fisherman's Platter, but can be pricey. But compared to other City Island restaurants, it is a relative bargain. Excellent for a larger party where seafood is not the only option.

I brought my cousin and his friend who are visiting from Australia to Artie's based on good reviews but I was disappointed. We chose the seafood platter but it didn't taste good - too much oil in the linguini.

I tried linguine with clams and fettuccine with seafood. I preferred white sauce vs red. Very big portions. I needed a doggy bag. Waiters are very kind. Reasonable prices.

My wife and I meet my brother and sister in law go to diner every few months. We decided to meet in City Island, as it is half way between us. Growing up in the Bronx our parents took us many times to have Sunday diner in City Island. Usually at the Lobster Box. We wanted a good steak and... More

The look of Artie's is very nice. The service and food was excellent, except for one item. My Sister in Law ordered baked clams, after one taste she said there was a lot of breading and little clam. She asked for the manager who even before my Sister in Law mentioned what was wrong said " too much breading". I... More

Went on the evening of 5.31.14 Everything was very good including the service. Portions are large. One dish is enough for 2-3 people. The moxed seafood plate is enough for 4 people! Really! It was a bit pricey. But that could have been due to a bottle of wine. A very good experience.

Went here with friends. They certainly don't do small portions here. Service was also extremely friendly. If you can't eat it all, they automatically make up a doggy bag for you to take it away.
