I brought my cousin and his friend who are visiting from Australia to Artie's based on good reviews but I was disappointed. We chose the seafood platter but it didn't taste good - too much oil in the linguini.

I tried linguine with clams and fettuccine with seafood. I preferred white sauce vs red. Very big portions. I needed a doggy bag. Waiters are very kind. Reasonable prices.

My wife and I meet my brother and sister in law go to diner every few months. We decided to meet in City Island, as it is half way between us. Growing up in the Bronx our parents took us many times to have Sunday diner in City Island. Usually at the Lobster Box. We wanted a good steak and... More

The look of Artie's is very nice. The service and food was excellent, except for one item. My Sister in Law ordered baked clams, after one taste she said there was a lot of breading and little clam. She asked for the manager who even before my Sister in Law mentioned what was wrong said " too much breading". I... More

Went on the evening of 5.31.14 Everything was very good including the service. Portions are large. One dish is enough for 2-3 people. The moxed seafood plate is enough for 4 people! Really! It was a bit pricey. But that could have been due to a bottle of wine. A very good experience.

Went here with friends. They certainly don't do small portions here. Service was also extremely friendly. If you can't eat it all, they automatically make up a doggy bag for you to take it away.

I recently went there for goddaughters Communion. The party of eight was served and taking care of and everyone was happy with their meals. The staff is incredibly friendly and very accommodating. I had lobster and filet mignon it was perfect.

Food is great and service is good but the prices make you feel like you just got robbed. You just do get your moneys worth at all. Portion are very small and prices are very high.

Artie's on City Island is a wonderful respite from the frantic city life of New Yorkers. The food is delicious! We love their mussels in white wine and garlic- very garlicky! Their surf and turf (many luscious permutations available) is delicious! The atmosphere is sophisticated yet friendly. The staff are gracious and a little quirky! Great for date night or... More

The wife and I returned to Artie's after many years - and wondered why haven't we been here more often! The food is excellent - well prepared generous servings, reasonably priced wines, delicious desserts, everything you'd want in a restaurant - and more. Will definitely be back soon, and more regularly!
