My husband and I celebrated our anniversary with an overnight stay and dinner at Friend's Lake Inn and couldn't have been more delighted. A little too girly for me, but will recommend for those seeking quiet away from the mainstream. Menu here is not outstanding, but for the area is quite nice. Try the fishing on Friends Lake, some of the best in the Adirondacks. more

If you're visiting the Adirondacks and are looking for a quaint, charming restaurant, full of Adirondack charm, the Friends Lake Inn will not disappoint. Excellent service and rustic ambiance add to the experience, though beware of what I consider to be overpriced entrees. We tried the stuffed portabello mushroom + 3 cheese plate for an appetizer. They might have opened the bistro before 2006, but i have had a camp on Friends Lake since i was born and we have always gone to the Inn to eat. The dining room is good, but expensive, but last summer we started eating in the Bistro. Great food, reasonably priced and can order the dining room specials. My family... more

My husband and haven't stayed at the Friends Lake Inn, but we did have dinner at the Friends Lake Inn restaurant a few weeks ago. The food was absolutely superb! Unfortunately, though, the service was really awful. The poor service started even before we got to the restaurant. That afternoon, my husband stopped in and asked to make a reservation.... more

Wow, we are devastated by this posting. I will attempt to explain the parts that are explainable. First of all the comments about reservations. This guest requested a reservation for our "Bistro" dining area where we were running a special "Apres Ski" special. We do not take reservations for the Bistro as it is our casual "pub" style dining offering....
