My wife and I have been to the Cooperstown area many times to attend the Glimmerglass Opera. This was far and away the best meal we've had. Seafood (tuna, mussels) was very fresh and superbly prepared. Other dishes (lamb, steak) were also outstanding. Service was attentive and friendly. We look forward to coming back next year. We wanted to get out of the Cooperstown tourist action and find something different. This place was it. Located in a 200 year old home, we sat outside on their front porch and relaxed with a nice glass of wine while enjoying the beauty and fragrances from their huge flower bed. The salads were nice and fresh and dinner was... More

A friend and I went to an outdoor concert in Cooperstown Friday night, and we stopped at the Rose and Kettle for supper beforehand. The downtown of Cherry Valley spreads about two blocks out from a five way intersection at the center of the village. The Rose and Kettle can be found less than a block from the intersection on... We go to the Rose & Kettle restaurant for birthdays, anniversaries, with friends or just by ourselves. It has a very comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. We have always found the food to be predictably good. They have wonderful pasta dishes. Salads are fresh and delicious. We love the hanger steak. And deserts are a real treat.

We had dinner with four friends, and the atmosphere was wonderful. We bumped into many friends while there. The service is very helpful. I ordered my usual risotto filled with delicious veggies. It is always superb and this time it was all the more so. For dessert my husband and I shared a creme brule, which was fantastic. I also... More

In a little town but the food was out of this world! Best place to go! Outside of the hustle and bustle of Cooperstown but worth the drive

My wife and I frequent the Rose and Kettle whenever we can get a babysitter. The food is always beyond our expectations! The staff is friendly, fun and awesome! The decor is very warm and inviting, you feel like you're in your own home! Chef Begley is known to cook up some very enticing meals (personally, i've enjoyed his tasty... More

... they would make twice as much money with the after opera crowd! One of the few place where you can get a bite form a limited late night menu but they make you wait for your drinks! Their normal menu is very good, the building and porch most charming and the scene is great...

This past weekend I had a wonderful meal with friends at this cosy country restaurant. The menu is a very eclectic from crab cakes to samosas to fish and chips but everything is well done. We ordered a variety of menu items so I was able to taste a number of dishes. All were well cooked and each had a... More

This is a real find; the food is fantastic. They are one of the few places that stay open late at night because many of the Glimmerglass Opera cast go there after their evening performances! Definitely worth the trip.
