Eat there twice

We ate there twice and both meals were well done. My mom and I both enjoyed our meals. The view of the lake was nice while we ate.

We dined at 5 p.m. and the place was nearly empty. The main dining room is large and open with beautiful views. We were waited on immediately by a very friendly young lady, Brianna. We ordered wine which was uncorked table-side (as it should be) by another of the wait staff, a young man who made pleasant conversation with us... More

I enjoyed the scallops and seasonal veggies. A lovely dinner if your expectations aren't too high. Eat outside if you have the choice. Relax and take in the setting and appreciate the beauty and history of the building and surrounding Institution.

Five of us had dinner on the expansive porch, great view of the lake. The Salmon dish was great, the ribeye was excellent. Even the watermelon gaspatchio was fantastic. We all had a great meal. The waiter was super busy and was not as attentive as we would of wanted. Overall a great experienced !!!!!

9 of us had dinner here Sunday night, and we were all disappointed in our meals. Service was good, waitress was attentive. My food (stuffed flounder) was lukewarm, and I'd rate overall meal a B minus. Views from the porch are fabulous, but you can't go for just a drink on the porch- all alcohol has to be served with... Great setting! A verandah viewing Chautauqua Lake; what could be better? Well, the food and the service could be A LOT better. We ate there on 7/13/15. The staff appeared poorly trainer and frazzled. The menu offered watermelon gazpacho; I thought that was what I ordered. I was presented with a traditional gazpacho but did not complain. My wife's cauliflower... More

The very old and elegant hotel of yesteryear contains a large plain open dining room with hundreds of tables gave an institutional feel - like your college cafeteria of the 1940's. An interesting menu with good food at a reasonable value. Good wine selections are available. Young inexperienced servers are full of enthusiasm but were not as efficient as professional... More

We recently spent a pleasant afternoon strolling around the Chautauqua Institute and had decided ahead of time to have lunch at the Heirloom Restaurant. We were pleased to learn that the usual gate price to enter the Institute is waived and a time limited entry is available for those who dine at the Heirloom Restaurant. The menu includes a very... There were 4 in our party and each one of us was amazed at the quality and taste of our meal. It was as good as it could have been.

We expected much better. The staff was very plesent. The food was not worth the price. I think the desert can from sam's club. Forthe price the food should have been much better. We won't return. Try Landmark in Jamestown for a great meal.
