The Cooperage Inn takes great pride in serving the freshest fish, meats and local produce available. Sauces are expertly prepared on premise by our chefs. The name "Cooperage Inn" comes from the craft of coopering, which goes back a few centuries, when it was the major method of packaging. We are located in the Long Island Wine region. Wine makers have always relied on the skills of the Village Cooper to store and age their wines.

Very Good Food

I found this place by accident when traveling on Sound Ave. I saw a sign for Lobster Bake so we stopped. The place is very charming a lot of cute decorations. The lobster bake was everything I hoped for and more. My husband ordered meatloaf and mashed potatoes. It was very good. The service was... read more

This is our favorite go-to restaurant at home. We have been coming here for over 15 years and last night's dinner was so delicious I just had to post a review. I had the catch of the day from the Early dinner prefix menu for $26. It was swordfish, prepared to order. I chose it broiled and it was by... More

It had been a few years since our last visit to Cooperage and we now regret the absence. Our lunch today was outstanding. Excellent service and a top-notch, very diverse menu. At lunch there is a prix fixe menu as well as an a la carte menu. Selections on each were very tempting. The wine list, with an emphasis on... More

It's a shame that the atmosphere is so dated - kinda like those old Victorian settings that your great grandma grew up in. The grounds are beautiful and there is an outdoor craft beer garden (closed when visited). Despite the setting, we had a very good meal made affordable with their 'date night' promotion. For $55 per couple (plus tax... More

This was an unplanned stop for us after visiting several vineyards on the North Fork. We were just looking to grab a bite to eat but instead we had a great dining experience. This is a large restaurant with several dining rooms and an outdoor beer garden. It was getting warm out so we opted for indoors and the AC.... More

My son, daughter in law and I spent a couple of nights on Long Island. The Cooperage Inn was one of the restaurants that was recommended by our hotel. I should add that my daughter in law is coeliac and any hint of gluten in her diet makes her extremely ill. Anyway, our first visit to The Cooperage Inn was... More

This is still a good restaurant, but it used to be a really good restaurant. It has gotten way bigger than it should have. Expansion has ruined the quality of the food preparation and the wait staff. When things get too big, something has to give. On this visit to the Cooperage, the waitress was so bad that it took... More
