Birthday Meal

I'd never been here before, but we went for my husbands birthday and had the best time! The food was gorgeous. I had the grilled vegetables for starters and have never tasted vegetables so delicious. Followed by pasta which was yummy and the lemon sorbet for dessert was the icing on the cake. The... read more

There are a lot of great restaurants on Arthur Ave., but San Gennaro really stood out as a really great one. We were there on a Monday night when half the eateries are closed. San Gennaro was not only open, but had at least 10 specials in addition to their already expansive menu. My wife & I both had specials... More

Arthur Ave is a great place. I have been going down there for many year, have family from there and is the trueLittle Italy left in NY. Most places on the ave are catered to a loud, family style atmosphere. I love this aspect, but it's nice to dine in a restaurant like SG. In my opinion, it's the some... More

We had a nice lunch on Valentine's Day. They have a nice menu- appetizers, salads, soup, chicken, veal, beef and pasta dishes. We started by sharing a shrimp cocktail and Caesar salad. They were both good- the shrimp cocktail was served on a bed of mixed greens- so I had a second salad to eat. My husband for his main... More

San Gennaro Ristorante is the new name. The chef/owner, Señor Gennaro, was the chef under the old name. We were very happy with everything, when we want for lunch. A place to remember and to return again.

The restaurant was not very crowded during lunch and we sat in front outside. The waiters were generally attentive except for the end when it was time to leave I think because one picked up lunch from somewhere. The food tasted good although the linguini had at leasta stick of butter.

The best prepared mussels I've had in NYC. That's it. Those two short sentences should have been enough for the review but Trip Advisor requires more.

My family and I had linner (between lunch and dinner) there yesterday, so when we arrived at 3PM we were the only patrons. Michele (he is half French, from Toulouse, and half Italian) welcomed and seated us, then brought over these tasty hor's douvres. We were handed menus (that curiously didn't have prices) and Michele recited some great specials. My... More

Ten of us went for lunch and eight of us had the $16.95 lunch special. Seven of us were very disappointed with the lunch. Chicken Marsala was topped with canned mushrooms and was flavorless, Chicken Parm was tough and spaghetti was cold. The service was good the food was not. I will say however that the Pasta Fagoli soup was... More
