San Gennaro Ristorante is the new name. The chef/owner, Señor Gennaro, was the chef under the old name. We were very happy with everything, when we want for lunch. A place to remember and to return again.

The restaurant was not very crowded during lunch and we sat in front outside. The waiters were generally attentive except for the end when it was time to leave I think because one picked up lunch from somewhere. The food tasted good although the linguini had at leasta stick of butter.

The best prepared mussels I've had in NYC. That's it. Those two short sentences should have been enough for the review but Trip Advisor requires more.

My family and I had linner (between lunch and dinner) there yesterday, so when we arrived at 3PM we were the only patrons. Michele (he is half French, from Toulouse, and half Italian) welcomed and seated us, then brought over these tasty hor's douvres. We were handed menus (that curiously didn't have prices) and Michele recited some great specials. My... More

Ten of us went for lunch and eight of us had the $16.95 lunch special. Seven of us were very disappointed with the lunch. Chicken Marsala was topped with canned mushrooms and was flavorless, Chicken Parm was tough and spaghetti was cold. The service was good the food was not. I will say however that the Pasta Fagoli soup was... More

The food was superb and the staff was nice, efficient and serviceminded. The old lady still talk to guests about the good old days on Arthur avenue.

We ate at the Arthur Avenue Trattoria last night and it was charming. There are a few tables inside and an equal number outside. We were greeted by a lively lady, probably the owner, who parents' wedding in 1921 was in photos on the wall. (You can guess her age.) The food was quite good. We had eggplant parm with... More

Growing up in a first generation Italian family just a mile from Arthur Avenue, I have admittedly high expectations every time that I go back to the old neighborhood. Trying the Arthur Avenue Trattoria for the first time since my regular restaurants were closed for vacation, I was truly disappointed since the restaurant is owned by the family that owns... More

The ambiance of this little Trattoria is cozy and comfortable. We chose to sit inside on a nice July day as the door was open and the breeze came through. Our waitress was cute and helpful. My companions all chose from the Lunch Specials menu (around $16 each), and although the portions were certainly ample, their choices were mediocre, according... More
