Good local food for a Bronxite

So this place...what can I say?! The decor is amazing. Exposed brick. Nice charming bar with a view of the wood burning brick oven in the kitchen. The cocktails are great. My fave is their expresso martini...delish. The plates are of a nice size and the food pretty tasty! It's served true... read more

While on a brief trip we had an early dinner here. We arrived at 5 p.m. on a weeknight and were the first diners to arrive (they opened at 4:30 p.m.). Our waiter was very attentive without being obtrusive. Two kinds of Italian bread were brought to the table with olive oil to start. For our meals,we shared a Margherita... More

Consistently memorable food, service and atmosphere keep me returning whenever I'm in the area. Short ribs, pizza with pancetta and smoked mozzarella and their pasta dishes are all very good.

A destination on Arthur Avenue for New Yorkers and visitors that serves excellent authentic cuisine. The food is fresh, satisfying, and delicious. Try the specials, which burst with flavor. Great for birthdays, which are a grand performance by the entire wait staff. I haven't had a bad meal.

I came here on a Saturday night a couple weeks ago with my family. The atmosphere was incredible, I loved the ambiance and felt like I was transported to Italy. The service was a little slow and we waited at least an hour for our table but that's to be expected on a Saturday night. I loved my dish--pasta al... More

I decided to take my family to Italy today. No suitcases or planes needed when you have Arthur Avenue in your back yard in the Bronx, who needs the jet lag! We went to my favorite restaurant there, Zero Otto which is your round trip ticket to Italy thanks to Chef Roberto and staff, you get magically transported to a... More

Were very happy to find a great restaurant the night of a Fordham basketball game. Reservations are accepted, but no seating until everyone is present. We had a party of four and the service was good enough to get us to the opening tap-off in time. One person in our group had Grigliata di Pesce which had enough of each... More

Always a very good meal, reliably consistent. Wine selection continues to be a good selection of years from table Chianti to excellent Brunello or Barbaresco or Barolo by the glass.dont expect o be in a hurry, relax and enjoy... like being in a little Piazza.

There are lots of good Italian restaurants in the area and many are tourist traps. Not so zero otto nove. It has become our "go to" place for lunch whenever we go to Arthur Avenue. Great Italian food, decent wine list, and a nice ambiance. Service is good and would definitely recommend.

Excellent pizza in one of New York's last true Little Italy neighborhoods. Be sure to walk along Arthur Avenue to see the food shops as well.
