I live 4 minutes away, yet, crossing the City Island Bridge transports you to a seaside village feeling...3 friends and I visited a couple of weeks ago on Resurrection Sunday....Valet parking is a plus and because we had reservations we were seated right away....although there was a crowd we were not rushed, the atmosphere was comfortable. The appetizers - Mussels... More

The journey to get to City Island was horrendous. Construction on a new bridge is causing hours of traffic. Our normal 15 minute drive from Queens took 90 minutes. We called the restaurant twice and they said they would hold our table, a 7:00 reservation. They did Not!! We were led to a line of diners waiting for a table.... More

On a recent trip to New York, my husband and I recently made an impromptu trip to City Island actually walking quite a way (from Van Cortlandt Park) to get there. It was worth it. City Island has a wonderful "village within the city" feeling. The highpoint was dinner at City Island Lobster, where the seafood food was very good,... More

This was my first trip to this dining establishment. I had recently heard of City Island and the eateries there, so I was curious. My brother, his date, my mom and I traveled here from New Jersey on April 3rd 2015 which was Good Friday. We were celebrating my mom's 71st birthday. We arrived shortly after 2pm which allowed us... The food here is decent and typical of City Island. However, I must say I truly enjoy their shrimp scampi and drinks. They can use a physical upgrade in various areas of the restaurant and their bathroom is up a long flight of stairs (not good for the elderly) but overall a decent place.

We tried this restaurant at recommendations for our Tripadvisor and were pleased. Lots of good sea food (the clam chowder was excellent!) followed by the fresh grilled fish and side dishes. Then we had dessert and coffee, then we ... bought a bigger car to drive 4 of us all home!

One of our favorites on City Island. We went in December and caught a dinner special. For $24.99 we had a choice of numerous entrees which included antipasto, a variety of breads (blueberry cornbread as well) AND soup AND salad, AND dessert. We choose the prime rib that was out of this world. We had New England clam chowder and... More
