Great food and atmosphere. Waitress staff very accomadating and friendly. Reasonable prices.Gets very busy so you may want to stop in after a round of golf in the area and sit in the bar area.

It goes without saying that more often than not its not actually the establishment that makes a great restaurant but its the customers/regulars. The garland house survived 20 years of business in an era of ongoing increasing business expenses. We will forever remember the great times, people we've met, and great food. Thank you the garland house for everything throughout... More

There is a fine line between a restaurant that has "character" and a restaurant that is simply run down and grungy. Garland House leans toward grungy. The menu pricing is very pretentious for such a mediocre restaurant. Charging $11.99-$13.99 for pasta entrees seems a bit much for a restaurant that uses flatware that was unmatched cafeteria grade. Where I was... More

We arrived just as they opened with a group of 10 on a Friday morning. They quickly pulled some tables together and stated on drinks. I had the turkey melt which seemed to be real roasted turkey and not just a couple of slices of "lunch meat" turkey slapped on bread. The entrees we had ranged from crab cakes to... More

Although once a family favorite, now a disappointing and dreary place to eat. My wife and I our two daughters went out recently for a dinner. We waited to be seated even though dining room was moostly empty. Througout the evening service was slow and intermittently attentive. My shrimp tasted as if they had been frozen. thawed and refrozen. Totally... More

When we visit Rochester, we make a point of having dinner at the Garland House. We had a large party on Mother's Day and had a great experience. We are big fans of the veal and artichoke French. The steaks were cooked perfectly too. It's a little small but definitely a good choice.

Food and service was the worst ever. We used to go often and food was good, maybe they have a new chef or owners? The interior was decorated differently, service was poor (and it was not even busy) Order the special of the day, something with shrimp and chicken, smelled horrible and chicken was so over cooked it was more... Fell upon this place by accident and was a lucky find. From the outside and entrance looked like a local tavern/bar... Nothing fancy inside either EXCEPT the menu.... food was a little pricey, but you get what you play for. Good quality food and lots of it. Staff was friendly and nice drink menu. All in all, a great place... More

I really like the portion sizes, as I ca eat a ton. This is one of very few that I need a doggy bag for.
