I took the server's recommendations from drinks to dinner and everything was fantastic. Everyone's meals were plentiful and delicious. For the amount of people we had I did not think the bill was bad. We go there every time we stop in Binghamton and they never disappoint.

Always a treat to dine at Number 5. Best steaks in town, the rest of the menu does not disappoint, either. Service without becoming intrusive is well done. Only suggestion I would make is that my party and I always dine downstairs, much livelier, better ambiance. The formal dining room upstairs is too kinda claustrophobic for us. Adam, downstairs server,... More

Was not sure what to expect in downtown Binghamton. The staff greeted us warmly. The waiter, Louis, was not only helpful but had a great sense of humor. The food and service was excellent.

As others have said, Number 5 has so much going for it - ambiance, service and great food. Whenever we are in the Binghamton area, this is the one place we always plan to visit. Already looking forward to our trip in September.

The Number Five restaurant and bar has a lot going on. Aside from being a converted fire station, there's a stage, a bar, and a lovely, intimate dining room upstairs. They get in great music acts, and good crowds. The food I didn't try until my second visit. But I was not disappointed. Mm mushrooms! I never get tired of... More

This restaurant was originally an old fire station and now it is one of the top restaurants in the southern tier if NY. This place has the best swordfish on the east coast.

What a pleasant surprise. This restaurant was suggested to me by someone who use to live in Binghanton area. IT WAS FANTASTIC! It is an old fire station (from late 1800's). Nice bar area. We went "upstairs" (a bit quieter). Service and food were OUTSTADING! Must try SOUP FLIGHT....I had ribeye steak...mouthwatering! Prices were fair for what you received. Service... More

As a way to beat the Mother's Day crowds we took my wife to Number 5 on the Saturday night before Mother's Day. We've been to Number 5 many times since we live in Binghamton. I can't say we've ever had a bad experience. Saturday was no different. Not only is the food preparation exceptional but the service is even... More

I was really disapointed with this place. The atmosphere was very interesting and the staff was great. However, the food preparation was very poor. Shrimp appetizer - Burnt. Scallop appetizer - Burnt. Salmon entree - Undercooked. Chicken Piccata had pieces of onion SKIN in it (There isn't even onion in the dish). Crem Brulee was over beaten and eggy. I... More
