This is a NYC caliber restaurant in the Binghamton area. Excellent food and perfect service. I highly recommend this establishment the next time you are on the area.

We arrived on a Saturday night, around 5pm, without a reservation. The staff was very accommodating, and even though they were "booked", were able to find us a table. We were out on a "date night" Sponsored by Lincoln, and this was one of the recommended restaurants. We're glad we chose it. Fresh baked bread to start out, with a... More

Had supper here for the first time in about a decade. Wine flights were great. Ahi tuna entree was unbeatable. Loved the grated ginger! Will definitely be back.

Stopped for dinner. Sat in bar and ordered off bar menu. Burger was truly excellent. My wife had the Cobb salad. Huge!!! They were not busy and service was excellent. Only downside was music was up a tad too high. Other than I would come back for the burger truly worth it.

We stopped into Binghampton as a stop-over on our drive from Toronto to Long Island. The front desk at the Hampton Inn suggested a couple of places including the Number 5 Restaurant. We never expected a place as good as this as a stop over meal. Our server, Krista?, was fantastic, the food was out of this world. I had... More

This is an upscale restaurant which is the best in the area for special occasions. It is pricey but definitely worth it.

Excellent ambience and good food but small detractors added up when the wine selection wAs not available after two selections and our third bottle choice was discounted for the inconvenience. We both had the Lobster Bake and for $28 it was worth the price. Life gets messy : the they could not provide bibs to get into the sumptuous repast... More

In response to your review: Columbia Crest no longer makes a Sauvignon Blanc, which was brought to our attention last week, and left us no time to change the list before the weekend. A party of 16 people the previous night wiped us out of Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc. Yes, we ran out of bib that night for the Lobster... More

The whole gimmick of the Number 5 is that they're a New York City-style restaurant in the small(ish) city of Binghamton. Now, from a first-impression (and semi-shallow) standpoint, that's not a bad idea at all. It's nice to have that sort-of more urban, higher-class “flavor” in the area. But the way this is executed just doesn't work. I've been there... More

After a disappointing recent experience, I wrote an email to the contact person on their website and received no reply. I followed up with a mailed letter to Jim McCoy, the owner, and also received no response. Since they seem to have no desire to respond to customer complaints, I decided to make our experience public on TripAdvisor so future... More
