French treat in Binghamton

My wife and I were looking for a new computer at Red Barn Computers on Pine Street in Binghamton and across the way is Tranquil Bar and Bistro. We decided to have dinner there. A smaller establishment, one room divided by a half wall between the bar and resturant. We were asked by the... read more

Came here for dinner on the recommendation of someone who's dined here before and had no idea what it would be like. It was like a big city restaurant dropped onto a quiet, albeit rough-looking, street in Binghamton. It was such a pleasant gem of a restaurant - a very cozy and quiet atmosphere even though there was a decent... More

I spent a weekend in Binghamton and brunch here with friends on a Sunday morning. The service was very good, hands-on but not overly attentive. The food was excellent and decently priced. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to others.

Enjoyed Sunday brunch, then a week later had dinner there with friends. Great service, good food, and nice atmosphere.

My friend and I had a delightful meal here. The food was delicious, the staff attentive, and the atmosphere was relaxing. My friend had the harvest salad, and I had the evenings special. Delightful!

It's not easy to find distinguished food in Binghamton but Tranquil has made its mark and with aplomb. We were a group of four so we tried many different appetizers and entrees. Everything was perfection. True perfection. The chef deserves a hats off. The baked Brie is incredible ... We ordered seconds!! The salads are refreshingly light. I had the... More

I am a NYC 'snob.' What a surprise. Great service. Beautifully prepared food. We were a party of seven. Everyone enjoyed their food. Unfortunately, we won't be returning; my son has graduated from college.

I love the relaxed NYC bistro atmosphere, the waiters/waitresses are charming, Loren and Sean are pleasant to talk to, and it is one of my favorite places in town. However, the Tranquil has notes of excellence but it also has some odd lapses. I have had slow-cooked dishes like short ribs that were perfect but then more recently they seem... More

Tranquil is a teeny little restaurant near the baseball stadium in downtown Binghamton, which, as many locals might realize, is not the greatest of areas to share a meal. Further, it seems the food can be hit or miss. This was clear when we went with friends for our second visit (first was New Years' Eve, two years ago,) over... More
