This place is awful. The seared sirloin steak is like a piece of chuck roast over cooked. The Penne pasta and bacon dish taste like garbage, as I burp it up. I would avoid this place. Unless your into overpaying for a meal.

Okay I'm reluctant to review this as it deserves because I don't want to end up standing in line. I don't have time or $ to go to dinner at Tranquil but love their weekend brunches. You can still get dessert! And if you wait till noon you can also get a mimosa. Great omelettes. Amazing maple french toast. Free... More

We made reservations through the online system about five days in advance. Upon waiting to get seated we were informed the heat was broke and that it was going to be up and running in about 15-20 minutes...okay so no big deal we could wait a bit. It would have been nice to receive a call or email prior to... More

The mixed drinks are superb. The food is quite good but a bit expensive. The French onion soup is excellent. The short rib dinner was about average as the sauce was good but not special. We had a mushroom and spinach appetizer that was good, but could have used many more mushrooms.

When visiting Binghamton, we are always looking for a great place for a quiet family dinner. Our first visit to Tranquil was five months ago and it showed a lot of promise as a young restaurant that could grow into something really special. So we chose it for a special occasion on a recent Sunday, and made a reservation, although... More

For Restaurant Week in Binghamton three of us visited the Tranquil Bar & Bistro for the first time. We were very pleasantly surprised by the variety and creativity of the French-inspired menu as well as the decor. Between the three of us we sampled the rabbit and pistachio terrine, the duck breast, the salmon filet and an interesting acorn squash... More

Tranquil is always my first choice for a nice dinner out. I have never had a meal that was less than excellent. The Chilean sea bass charbroiled and served with lump crab risotto, wilted spinach, and buerre blanc is among my most favorite. I always jump at their seafood specials. They have wonderful clam and mussel appetizers, as well as... More

Excellent food, service, ambiance---I look forward to going back when visiting Binghamton again. They accommodated a party of 12 (family reunion) with ease. The filet mignon was tender despite my preference of having my steak cooked "well-done". The vegetarian members of my family also enjoyed the vegetarian choices on the menu. Would go back again when in town. Highly recommend... More

KNOW Theatre is proud to count Tranquil Bar & Bistro amongst their friends, partners, and sponsors in Binghamton's thriving arts community. With less than two weeks' prior notice, they came through & catered a major fundraiser event for us. As the evening was New Orleans-themed, they delivered the goods and prepared some outstanding Creole food: a delicious dip with shrimp,... More
