Spicy Spicy Spicy

We had a nice experience at The Bayou. Not very crowded for a Saturday night. The waitstaff was very attentive and friendly. The food was amazing but if they advertise spicy, they mean it. We will absolutely be back!

We love going to the Bayou!! Have been going for over 20 years. Love the week night and weekend specials. The staff is great and friendly. You are never rushed. It has become our favorite place for birthdays, New Years eve and anniversary celebrations.

Friday night 7:30 table for 2.. Gumbo appetizer was hearty and delicious. Crawfish étouffée out of this world. Service was fantastic. Live music was really good. Can't wait to go back..

My husband and I first went to this place in December 1990 and although we don't go very often, whenever we do, it is always consistently delicious. This time we brought our son and they accommodated his rather finicky eating habits. The Hurricanes are yummy, the étouffée was cooked perfectly. Pricey but great. The blues music in the back ground... More

The Bayou has great atmosphere, always feels like Mardi Gras and if the dish says it's spicy then it's HOT! Prices are not cheap but well worth it. Only take cash or Amex.

this restaurant has been here forever, small but a little noisy. busy bar. went to eat with 2 other couples who had never been before and were afraid of "spicy" food. Everyone loved there meal. If you follow the "pepper" rating on the menu, you won't get too much spice. fun time fun drinks

Just had dinner with my family, a little unsure when we walk but one of the most welcoming restaurants on long island. The food was awesome the onion fritters are a must, the lettuce wedge had a spicy twist. The steak jambalaya was very spicy and we worth it. Shrimp and fritters came with the best fries and you get... More

My son attends Tulane University in New Orleans so I have more experience than most New Yorkers with respect to Cajun food. I would rate this restaurant as excellent with an authentic feel. The restaurant is by no means upscale, but the good is great. The pan fried catfish was superb!

I'm not really sure what to make of the place. The dark atmosphere, plastic tablecloths with Hawaiian print, red lights strung all over the ceiling. Robert Irvine would have a field day - and not in a good way. The food? It was as disjointed as the decor. The server had one word for any menu item I inquired about.... More

This was one of my favorite restaurants in the 90's. We'd go several times/month. I was recently re-acquainted with The Bayou, and I'm so glad I was! The food is even better than I remember. Outstanding choices, authentic Cajun fare - with a wonderful down south atmosphere. The drinks were professionally prepared and cheerfully delivered! This is the best Cajun... More
