My husband and I ate here on a beautiful fall evening. The dining area was cozy, comfortable and pleasantly quiet. The menu contained lots of choices for the adventurous or those favoring more classic Italian fare. I had one of the many choices from the specials, a pasta with clams and a white sauce. My husband had the pork chop,... More

The first time we were a party of five. The food was excellent, the service timely and the waiter attentive. We asked friends to join us at the restaurant for a second experience. In my opinion it was an extremely disappointing evening. I had ordered the steak on the first visit and I rated the taste and portion size highly.... More

We stopped in this quaint town to have lunch and saw reviews of this restaurant. We were a party of 8 and couldn't decide what to order off this great menu. Service was a little slow but we weren't in a big hurry. We had salads and burgers. Well prepared and great quality. We will go back for dinner if... More

Great food, service, and comfortable dining. Walk-able from the Chrystie House Bed & Breakfast, for those who like walking.

We luckily were too hungry to travel all the way home from a short stay in the Hudson River Valley, so we checked Tripadvisor and found that this restaurant had many favorable reviews. It was a great find as we had an authentic Italian meal, which we say with confidence having traveled to various regions of Italy four times. I... More

Not a comfortable place to enter. People stare at you when you walk in. Plus you stand there waiting before your even acknowledged. Then when you finally are your told there's no table available. When clearly you see that's not true. Again not very welcoming at all.

A small restaurant, Café Amarcord offers fantastic food and great wines, pleasantly served. The (more-or-less Italian) food is always interesting, beautifully prepared, and attractively served. The wine list is extensive and thoughtfully chosen. I consider this little gem a place for serious people who understand and appreciate good food and wine. I wholeheartedly recommend this unexpected jewel in one of... More

The only place for a great meal in Beacon, a small town making a come back. Lovely atmosphere. Charming outdoor dining in warm weather. Attentive service. Generous portions of very good food. All made on the premises. No frozen food here. Great huge burgers at lunch. Impressive pastas at dinner. Reasonable wine prices. A real find.

We visited cafe Amarcord last Saturday for lunch. The curb appeal was good. The interior was charming; however it was unfortunate that the food was mediocre. 1)The salmon cake was too large and one got tired of it about half way through. It would have been better if it was smaller, had a nice sauce and was served with a... More
