Classic NY Steak experience

Jack's is a classic NY style steakhouse, packed with diners and very load. The food was excellent, but the seating was very tight. The wine list was very extensive and well rounded with choices, all priced at about 3 times retail price. Reservations are recommended at all times or you may have to... read more

Uncle Jacks is a well known restaurant. Only 3 location in New York, but owner is well known on a show on the FoodNetwork. I went on Valentine's Day and I must say there scheduling was on point. Downfall is that the restaurant is small and the sitting arrangement is sort of crowded without any personal space. This place is... More

I've been to many excellent Steak houses, including Peter Luger's (Great Neck & Brooklyn) locations. Years ago Luger's Brooklyn was the best by far, now I feel it does not compare to Uncle Jack's of Bayside. I have eaten at both within the last two month's. I had the 16oz Filet Mignon at Uncle Jack's, favor and tenderness was fantastic.... More

If you like red meat you'll like Uncle Jacks. Second time dining at Uncle Jacks in Bayside, this time was for a bachelor party dinner. With 16 hungry men, we reserved the private room downstairs. Making the reservation was a breeze. Nicole and Sammy couldn't be more hospitable. Welcomed at the door by Sammy, and was seated on time. Private... More

Short and sweet. Ever since the inception of Brooklyn's Peter Luger brand in the 1800's, the New York steakhouse experience has, over the years become formulaic. Yup. The slab of bacon, porterhouse for two, roast beef, salmon, lobster, creamed spinach, German fries, chocolate mouse cake with schlag... yadda yadda. My only musts for considering a steakhouse have been whittled down... More

Came for dinner with colleagues. I enjoyed a mescalin salad- delicious and flavorful with goat cheese. Another had a delicious wedge for appetizer. For entree I had a fillet of sole cooked in a butter sauce, a special. The others enjoyed steak. We share a side of baked gnocci with cheese- fabulously flavorful. We shared a caramel tartufo for dessert.... More

I have frequented uncle jacks a lot in the past I must say the quality is definetly slipping. It must be the arrogant owner who thinks he is a star. WRONG!! The staff from the hostess to the waiter to the bartenders are all wonderful and definetly the only thing this restaurant has going for it. The food is over... More
