An unassuming shack across from a ferry terminal has great food

Perhaps because of its base clientele, sophisticated Manhattanites going to or coming from Fire Island, Nicky's food is notable and the small restaurant is worth a trip. (Also try Nicky's on the Bay, a larger location right on the water nearby.) Particularly good: clam chowder, seafood bisque (with... read more

Very over rated restaurant! Very pricey for what they serve. Food acceptable but not really anything to write home about--or recommend. Water view is nice--but there ARE better places with better views. Adequate service but not spectacular. Not a place I frequent regularly; generally only if someone wants to have a meeting of some sort and that's the place they... More

I love this place. I go there all the time when I am waiting for a ferry. Fantastic environment with even better staff. The food hits the spot every time. Keep up the good work!

A visit to this "clam bar" will not let you down. The seafood and fish, as well as the salads are always fresh and delicious with generously portions served. The soups are outstanding and match up with the best on Long Island. The menu selections are numerous and the staff are always friendly and accommodating to your menu requests. Please... More

Waiting for the ferry to fire Island is not the nicest thing you can do early morning. Thanks to Nicky's Clam Bar, which also offers breakfast, lunch and diner, made my waiting fun. I have been here for breakfast and lunch and both times was fun. But the breakfast was unforgettable (maybe because I was cold and hungry) but I... More

Particularly good: clam chowder, seafood bisque (with lobster), broiled flounder, shrimp salad, crab salad, and even chicken salad.

I loooooooooove this place. You cannot find WHOLE FRIED CLAMS Anywhere! I don't know why but no one makes whole clams. I dream about this place and I am soo happy they have renovated Nicky's on the Bay( Bay Shore Marina) so now I can get clams almost ALL year long. This is the little clam shack at the Ferries... My family and I popped in here on a Monday in August. The staff are friendly and efficient. I had fresh flounder and my wife had the clams, but we shared dishes. All the seafood was fresh, my children had fish, pasta and a hamburger. The fish is the main attraction as it is very fresh, the sides are OK.

We were looking for amazing local seafood, but didn't want a fancy atmosphere… We were coming from Fire Island Beach and were a bit Beach-worn looking, but it was vacation and we didn't want to miss an opportunity to have some great seafood! Nickys clam bar was perfect! The The location is right where all the boats dock. The walls... More

Enter Fire Island ferry terminal and right there is Nick's! Parking is tuff but you learn how to deal with it! Now you enter the "shack" and the real fun begins. Everything is fresh, delicious and plentiful. The steamers are awesome and sweat, fried soft shell crabs are sublime. In fact virtually everything you order is perfect. It is clearly... More
