Sat by the window overlooking the docked boats. For lunch, this was a very nice portion and the shrimp were very fresh tasting, as well as the lobster in it. Pasta was perfectly al dente! My friend had tyne fried flounder sandwich which looked pretty good. Nice to have a choice of tap beer. Good breadbasket filled with rolls ,... More

Recently took my mother to Captain Bill's for dinner. Going to Captain Bill's was a family tradition. My grandparents used to take my mother there many years ago. We had a delightful dinner this time around. The bread basket had some lovely, warm, fresh breads. My mother had the Pan Seared Swordfish Au Poivre, and she enjoyed every last bite.... More

Captain Bill's has been around since the 1920's in one form or another, and it's never been better than it is now. We went for lunch with a group of 12, and were immediately seated. Diane was our server and she was excellent! The Bloody Marys are quite good, with horseradish added (as it should be!), several olives, and a... More

We were here for a 50th HS reunion dinner...the food was wonderful. Thought there would have been more seafood, considering the location, but it is a good place for a reunion. The views of the bay at sunset are worth every penny. The staff was friendly and service was good.

Captain Bill's has been a famous landmark for over 60 plus years and I have been going back for over 50 of them. The service and the food cannot be beaten anywhere on "The Island" and the menu will never let you down. Bloody Mary's and Clams on the half shell to the best Prime Rib anywhere. If it didn't... Captain Bill's is somewhat of a landmark restaurant in Bay Shore, NY. It's located on the Great South Bay and is surrounded by private craft as it sits adjacent to a marina. On a nice day the views are spectacular and the restaurant is worth a visit. The room is spacious, lots of glass, and they do lots of catering.... More

We brought out of town friends for dinner thinking the food and ambience would be perfect. It wasn't. We ordered wine which was fine. Next appetizers and soup. Mussels were delicious but cold. Onion soup was cold and lobster bisque was cold and not so good. Waiter took them back after realizing we were right. Next dinner! Seafood plate was... More

I have been to this restaurant about 3/4 times and each time the food is just as delicious if not better. The atmosphere is lovely. The staff is very friendly. Very clean restaurant. We love celebrating birthdays and graduations here.

Seafood is always fresh and cooked well. Classic dishes- nothing too creative. Kind of pricey- definitely a place to go for a birthday or other occasion.

Captain Bill's is a very old Bay Shore landmark and the current restaurant maintains a friendly atmosphere always offering good service and excellent cuisine with a variety of seafood specials. A great Bar area with a regular Happy hour where excellent service is also provided. I also had my daughter's Wedding at Captain Bill's and everything was perfect for our... More
