Pleasant lunchtime

Went in on a midweek lunchtime and got a very friendly greeting. Only had a bar snack but was tasty, good portions and good value. Nice pint of ale as well. Will go back for the main menu.

Great to go back and see the pub after it had been closed for a while. Rang up to make a reservation for lunch and the waitress was very friendly and helpful. Booked for 12 o'clock .We arrived just before12 and managed to find a space in the car park. Lovely views over the Buckinghamshire countryside from inside the pub.There... More

There yesterday for lunch - a very enjoyable experience. Very warm welcome upon arrival from a very cold day outside. Food and service absolutely perfect, so good to have that feel-good-factor about it all. Staff looked after us so well on a busy lunch time. Wonderful views as clear and sunny out but cosy and warm inside. We shall definitely... More

Visited the pub this evening with my team from work. We were out for a meal after a good month and the pub was lovely and warm. Very welcoming staff and we had a drink in the bar. Good selection of food, your typical country pub choices. We had Camembert to start which was lovely. The steak for main was... More

I went here for my birthday yesterday, the food was amazing. I am a coeliac so need to have a gluten free meal. The chief made a glutten free cake for my pudding ( yummy.) They really go the extra mile for you here. Lovely atmosphere great service. There are amazing views and walks from the pub. You must go... More

easy to get a table for Saturday lunch, nice friendly welcome, prompt service, free newspaper to read, historic building (built 1600!), beautiful picturesque village and lovely local walks across fields etc nearby. On the slightly negative side: very oily mushroom stroganov.

Over the years have dropped in here on our way past, often for a drink, and occasionally for a meal. Recently reopened after being closed few months so we thought we would try a Sunday lunch. They had a carvery with four different roasts to choose from, and the usual trimmings. I had beef, which was a really decent piece... More

Having visited the Sunday carvery on the opening weekend and had an amazing meal with friendly service I decided to visit again with my daughter. Another excellent experience with the food being great value for money and just as tasty the second time. The puddings on both occasions were too temping to ignore and the service outstanding. I am so... More
