I go to this restaurant regularly whilst down in the area on business. Each time I have had excellent service and food. I always recommend this place to colleagues and they always have only good things to say. I can honestly say the steak I had there was by far the best steak I have ever had. I was very... More

I have always found the service at the Chequer's Inn second to none. The landlord and his staff are ever so accommodating and have time to listen.. Not rushing guests. Everybody (staff) is pleasant and one feels like part of "the family" all the time. Food is of an excellent standard and worth every penny. However, it would be nice... More

We had our wedding reception at The Chequers on 29th August 2014 and from start to finish everything was exceptional, from the wonderful food to the first rate service. We had a 5 course dinner for 45 people followed by an evening buffet for an additional 35 guests. Dritan and Ranka were great and gave lots of helpful advice as... More

Have visited several times over a number of years, it has changed hands a few times, not always for the better. It is very nicely decorated, good service and good food, but a little over priced in my opinion.

Not been here for a little while but my goodness were we shocked... Seems like there is a new theme going on of sky high prices and nothing else in between unless all you want is a pint and packet of crisps. NOTE: judging by the previous review it's not even much cop for a nice pint now either! This... More

Having enjoyed three pints of 'real' beer, the fourth came as a bit of a shock to both of us. The beer was most definitely off and having advised the landlord, we received no word of apology only an explanation that it should be fine as it was from a new barrel. As no other ale was available we requested... More

Not having been to The Chequers for a couple of years, my sister suggested we should try it. We decided to book early around 7pm, as my father at 89 prefers it that way. Upon arrival we were served drinks in the pub area, finally after some prompting the girl came out from behind the bar gave us menus. Some... More

We ate here for Fathers Day and had our best meal to date in the Aylesbury region so returned for my Birthday lunch. We rang and booked last minute on the day and could only get a table in the bar and eating at 2:30 - the kitchen shuts at 3. We started with bread and olives which were really... More

We chose to have our wedding reception at the Chequers. We had had dinner there a couple of times and knew the food would be fabulous. It turns out we totally underestimated it - the day was out of this world! The owners were fantastic; they handled a huge amount of the organisation for the day and managed to arrange... More
