Fantastic, as always!

Wonderful food, wonderful atmosphere, Carol & John are unique! The restaurant is very small so you may be wise to book. Portion sizes are huge so we have never managed 3 courses.

Went back in May and I am still thinking about the food now in June, very very good. Huge portions and just delicious. Well worth the money.

Got the last table on the last night befor the kitchen shuts for 2 weeks while the chef and his wife the host and waitress go on what turns out to be a well deserved holiday. Food was unpretentious. Tasted delicious and the portion sizes were very generous. Fortunately we shares a starter of potted shrimps otherwise we would have... More

Based on previous reviews we thought we would give this a try. The pub is lovely and the welcome warm. However, we found the food a little disappointing, nothing special and the pork belly was dry.

Spur of the moment visit and really didn't think that we would get a table on a Sunday lunch especially phoning them just after 12! Got a table for both of us though and went along. The pub is the classic Chiltern pub...timeless and certainly a change from the chains that try to be old with bikes on the wall... More

We have been meaning to eat here for a while, as it has a good reputation. It is a little off the beaten track but definitely worth a visit. We received a genuine warm welcome and excellent service throughout the meal. The food was really delicious and nicely presented. This place is a real gem!

My wife and her friend stumbled upon this little gem in the heart of the Bucks countryside after one of their walks. They enjoyed thick country vegetable soup while warming up by the fire. They said it was so good we arranged to meet there for my wife's birthday. Although it was a Wednesday we had to book a table... More

Decided to book for our wedding anniversay after reading reviews on tripadvisor and was not disappointed. The restaurant is small but that gives it a lovely cosy atmosphere. The food is delicious and cooked to order but be warned portions are generous! Such a shame we don't live locally as we would definatelly make a return visit. One not to... More

Went here with friends as we like to try local eateries and the reviews of The Five Elms were very positive. We had a great afternoon in what is a lovely rustic building. Right from the outset we were made to feel very welcome by the owners, and being able to chat about the menu with the chef was a... More

What a find!! Bags of charm and character in this traditional village pub, and that's just the owners. Carol and John welcomed us as if we were going to their home for a dinner party. They are very friendly, caring and attentive hosts. It was a lovely, warm afternoon, so we sat outside, chatting with other patrons, most of whom... More
