We have just had lunch and found the completed experience absolutely marvellous. This is a small intimate resteraunt so booking is highly recommended. from the homely smell of the log fire to the hospitality of the hosts and not least great food this is a must.

On 26 March 15, I joined three friends for a gentlemen's luncheon at The Five Elms, clearly anticipating another excellent meal in good company. Every expectation for all of us was fulfilled: we had the customary warm welcome from Carol and enjoyed John's first-class cooking, start to finish. The place fulfils every notion of a country pub: it's in a... More

my partner and i had lunch here recently and was very impressed with the food and the friendly service, prices where reasonable £18 per head with a drink and moreover top quality, whilst the pub itself is quite small i would guess 20 peaple eating would be maximum in comfort, it is well worth the visit, it truly is a... Just been to pub for Mother's Day meal - great service but the food was just delicious!! The beef was wonderfully rare and it cut like butter, melted in your mouth. Everything is home cooked -wonderful pub -will definitely be back!!

Good varied menu to suit all tastes, food cooked to order, delicious, although the steak was rarer than we would have liked, however not a major problem, just personal taste, only needs you to explain how you want it. The portions were very very generous, so much so it was a real squeeze to fit in a pudding. You need... More

This was a surprise meal for me and my wife. The food quality is second to none in this cosy traditional pub. The staff are very attentive and the menu made it challenging to make a choice as there was loads I wanted to try.

We have been to this pub many times but decided that we should do our "Restaurant Inspector" thing. We have been to at least 6 pub/restaurants over the last 8 weeks. We have had some nice meals and some awful dinning. My quest was to find a good old fashioned tasty steak and kidney pudding while my partner was after... More

We have eaten regularly at the Five Elms for a long while and we have always been impressed by how consistently good it always is. The food is always cooked to the same high standard by the chef, John and the welcome is always warm and the service efficient but also very friendly. John cooks everything that is served there... The service here is very good and they do try and cater for all tastes even if it's not on the menu, vegetarian selection is very limited.I was not as impressed as with my last visit but it could have just been an off day, but to maintain top spot standards should always be high. I have been to much... More

Great atmosphere, simple but fine food. Friendly service- all in all a delight. I had lamb while my partner opted for Cretian Chicken. What a treat- a hidden gem and well worth seeking out if your in the Ayelsbury vicinity. Veggies with the meal were cooked to perfection and the Jus was scrumptious. Low ceilings and a historic building added... More
