Anniversary meal

Decided to book for our wedding anniversay after reading reviews on tripadvisor and was not disappointed. The restaurant is small but that gives it a lovely cosy atmosphere. The food is delicious and cooked to order but be warned portions are generous! Such a shame we don't live locally as we... read more

My wife and her friend stumbled upon this little gem in the heart of the Bucks countryside after one of their walks. They enjoyed thick country vegetable soup while warming up by the fire. They said it was so good we arranged to meet there for my wife's birthday. Although it was a Wednesday we had to book a table... More

Went here with friends as we like to try local eateries and the reviews of The Five Elms were very positive. We had a great afternoon in what is a lovely rustic building. Right from the outset we were made to feel very welcome by the owners, and being able to chat about the menu with the chef was a... More

What a find!! Bags of charm and character in this traditional village pub, and that's just the owners. Carol and John welcomed us as if we were going to their home for a dinner party. They are very friendly, caring and attentive hosts. It was a lovely, warm afternoon, so we sat outside, chatting with other patrons, most of whom... More

We decided to go to the Five Elms based on the reviews in Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed. From the moment we saw the pubs cat laying out side in the sun to when we left suitably refreshed hours later we were very well treated. The major factor was the quality of the food - it was just... What can we say? Friendly atmosphere, excellent food -- the best scallops I have ever eaten, and a lemon posset that was irresistible. (I got the last.) The rest of the family loved their choices too, and the two birthday boys were very happy with the blazing cake and the whole festive experience. This is not just pub food, but... More

Visited for Sunday Lunch after reading great reviews it was a lovely building, small but quaint. The wines were a good price. The service was very personal, a bit too much at times from the chef but the food arrived quickly and hot. The main Sunday Roast was beef which was not a problem as there was plenty of other... Dropped in for a quick meal after being out all day.l Warm, welcoming atmosphere. Nothing too much trouble. Excellent service, food as expected after hearing all reports - delicious! Varied menu and perfectly cooked and presented. Only slight criticism - very small dining area and can hear other people's conversations. This is NOT the fault of the restaurant - it... More
