Good food, service and kitchen needs some training

Four adults and one ravenous teen made the experience interesting. There were less than twenty people in the restaurant and the wait time was inexplicable. All of the food was good but I think the kitchen staff was out back fishing for the three orders of salmon. Probably about an hour before... read more

My daughter has Celiac's Disease, and can not eat even the smallest amount of gluten. This restaurant understands this and has a certified gluten free kitchen. The food is excellent and the staff is knowledgeable. Fresh local products are used which is great for the area economy. There is a regular menu, and a menu of daily specials. The majority... More

Family and I went to Fifty South last night and it was the best meal I have had in the Saratoga Region in a very long time. Everything we ordered was excellent from the tuna app to the duck entree. I'm glad I found this restaurant as I am always on the hunt for a great restaurant in the area.

What happened to this place? We went for breakfast yesterday -- 4 adults and 3 kids. Breakfast - one hour and ten minutes of waiting before we were served. Did I mention there were 3 kids at the table? Food was warm. We wont be returning. I was about ready to step in the kitchen and break some eggs myself.... More

I was in upstate NY visiting my Inlaws in Glens Falls, and googled "Gluten Free restaurants in Albany NY area" since my wife does not tollerate gluten. Several restaurants came up, but usually what you find is a place that has gluten free pizza, or just uses gluten free pasta with the regular menu. That is not the case here... More

For a family dinner during our weekend visit, our kids took us to Fifty South Restaurant. We were seated quickly we enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere that individual rooms created. Service was excellent, we like and support the 'farm-to-table' orientation, and the four quite different entrees we ordered were each very satisfactory and of good value.

We were in the area for one Friday night and the hotelier recommended this place. When we arrived, about 7:30pm, we were a bit surprised by how quiet the place was. Probably has about 20-25 tables, not sure about the bar, and only 4 or 5 were occupied on a Friday evening. The wait staff are very friendly, but it... More

Fifty South was recommended by the owner of the Good Morning Café, and you can't go wrong when another foodie recommends a restaurant. The restaurant is a farm to table restaurant is supplied by local farmers. So on that note, I and my dining partner decided to have the turkey dinner. Neither of us was disappointed; everything on the plate... More

After reading mixed reviews, we finally decided to give this a try. Walking through the door we were immediately greeted by a very pleasant person who brought us to our table. We were seated at a table in the bar area; I immediately thought, ugh. To our surprise , this began a wonderful dinner with an amazing musician as an... More

I am a huge fan of local restaurants and cafes who support local farmers.. And fifty south is one of them.. We wanted to try this place for a while after hearing all the great reviews.. I prefer going places unexpectedly and discover the greatness.. However with fifty south I read the reviews before.. I think I had a higher... More
