We waited forever for a burger and some flautas. The service is terrible, and the place looks like it needs a remodeling job pronto. Avoid!!

What I liked: the restaurant was right next door to my motel. The food was inexpensive. What I disliked: the food was bland and there wasn't many choices on the menu. It was the only restaurant in town. The next nearest restaurant is in Carlsbad which is about 20 miles away.

Pros: Only place to eat in Whites City, BUT, the cafe at the Carlsbad Caverns visitor's center (7 miles away) was MUCH better. Cons: Food was bland. Only one vegetarian option which is strange for a Mexican themed restaurant. Servers couldn't care less, they just looked sad. 6 tables and 3 servers, and we waited for 10 min for the... More

They actually have a decent salad, everything else is standard fare. Prices are decent for the quality and remoteness, staff is reasonably friendly and it's worth trying again! ...which is pretty good for a place that really could take advantage of the situation.

The only restaurant open in town at the time of our visit here. Not especially good, not terribly bad. It's run by a nice family of Mexicans for the owner. Atmosphere was very good. better than expected. Service was quick and friendly. Place wasn't real busy. Frajitas was good, but tacos were small and a little dried out. Chicken fried... More

Staff is really sweet. They will help you with your needs. Food was good. Nothing special. We ate their twice within our two months stay. It was close to camper which made it convenient for us.

bad customer service, bad food, the fries were decent. when asked if they good reheat some fajitas, the waitress never showed back up at the table and seemingly tried to avoid it. when checking out, her response was: i forgot., multiple complaints from other customers appears unanswered, some screaming at other waitstaff and generally just rude and not seeming to... If I could have left an eaten somewhere else, I would have. Next time in White City I will bring a picnic. Worst service and food nothing much. Cold mexican is rare, but I found it here. Won't come back if starving.

We were recently in White's City for 2 nights. We ate at the only place in town to eat - Cactus Café. There were lots of cars in their parking lot, so how bad could it be?? Well the cars are from the Halliburton crew who eat 3 meals a day there & get driven to the work site in... More

With a captive audience of Carlsbad Caverns tourists, my expectations were modest for a good breakfast. Cactus Cafe proved me oh-so-wrong, serving up one of the best breakfasts I've eaten in 25 years! My chorizo, cheese, egg, potato, and green chile burrito came through with an optimum balance of flavor, picante, and comfort. Gotta love those New Mexico chiles. My... More
