Over cooked fish is common in SA but the chef here nearly carried it to a whole new level. The fish was obviously frozen and when cooked had the consistency of tasteless rubber. This is then emerged in an equally uninspiring sauce. When ordering consider items that can be quickly prepared like a steak unless you really like the taste... More

What an amazing place this is! Gaansbai as a town was not very impressive at all but our hotel owner recommended this place and wow were we blown away! From the minute we arrived we were impressed by the decor and ambiance. Very 1920's style with old furniture and decorations (beautiful ones) and just a lovely atmosphere. The walls are... More

The food and the service was very good .The inside section of the restaurant is very lovely furn7shed with antiques & very nice place settings. We however sat outside in a beautiful courtyard filled with bougainvillea & fig trees with ripe delicious figs. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad which was delicious but certainly no relation to a Caesar salad... More

We were recommended this restaurant by our Guest House in De Kelders and it was superb. The service was top notch and the restaurant had a great atmosphere. We had the lamb and blue cheese bruschetta for starter and it was lovely. The ribs for main were unbelievable, the nicest i've ever had. Praise indeed. Highly recommend this place.

Thyme at Rosemary's is a great restaurant of the area. The experience is different from regular restaurants because as soon as you step inside this "House-like" restaurant it feels as if you've entered a different era. Old pictures and furniture transport you to a time in the past. We ordered their Oxtail (a South African delicacy) and it was amazing.... More

Our guest house recommended it, and it surpassed all expectations. Food, flavors, decor were unique and backed wit great service. My wife has the oxtail, and I had lamb shank - all fall off the bone, mop the plate stuff. Starters also great. Will definitely return
