Good for a speedy lunch on Route 62

I've just read Caro-Waffles review a few below and it made me chuckle - "it's a bit like eating lunch at a cross between a charity shop and a WI meeting". Brilliant, that description hits the nail on the head. It's quirky, well put together and the wood-fired pizza selection is just the job for a... read more

Jam Tarts is a must when passing through, the difference here is the food is made with love, creative and just SCRUMPTIOUS...compared to all the other restaurants in the same road, which generally get used by the larger buss groups ensuring a commercial atmosphere. What a please is it to sit in the small garden and enjoy a cold frosty.... More

I think it's the inviting sign that draws you in as you come around the bend on the highway, and you think hey, this is as good a place as any to take a quick rest :) The place is interesting inside - it has small knick knacks from all over the place and makes for an interesting look while... We chose Jam Tarts pretty much at random as we had been driving for hours and in need of a meal. The sign outside for Ostrich Burgers helped make the decision! It's a bit like eating lunch at a cross between a charity shop and a WI meeting but all the better for it. The people who work there are... More

We had lunch here while road tripping Route 62. I have eaten here once before back in 2011 and back then it was good value. Now not so much. I don't understand or agree with the Trip advisor certificate of excellence at all. There was nothing excellent about it. The table was dirty and the garden area seemed rather unkempt.... More

My husband and I stumbled into here on a long car trip and we're glad we did - Terri and her staff are super friendly. She gave us lots of tips for our next desitnation. The best part was I got to watch my delicious wood-fired oven pizza being cooked. Nice outdoor are lets you stretch your legs on a... More

We were only there for light meal, but the service was good, as was the food. The restaurant is very colorfully decorated, and the shop includes intriguing locally made items. It was a good, although brief, visit.

We stopped off at the Jam Tarts on our epic journey from Plettenberg to Gansbaai and had a quick bite to eat. We had delicious toasties and coffee. There are a few places to eat in Barrydale, but are quite sure we picked the right one! We sat outside in the garden area which was very rustic.
