We visited Mr. Simpsons for the first time. They made us feel so welcome and relaxed that our quick sunday lunch turn into a three hour three course meal delight. Brain and Stephen are such good hosts. The food was full of flavor and very good.

I cannot fault this restaurant. A true gem in Dullstroom. Food, service, wine and ambiance were just incredible, with such a unique twist on decor! They even have a resident cat called Wallace - you must meet him! Don't visit Dullstroom without stopping by! Restaurant is very busy especially over weekends so do make sure that you book! This restaurant alone is worth the 2.5hr drive from JHB! The best restaurant in Dullstroom! Can't wait to go back! Love it!

It was cold and misty outside and we were sad to find that at 1200 the fire in the hearth had not been lit! My wife was offered and nice warm coat. I ordered the Duck Confit and was disappointed that the meat was dry (defrosted in microwave?) and there was too much mash potato (not puree') to make it... More

A second visit to this establishment - consistently good. Relaxed, casual atmosphere. Good menu, nice wines. We had the snails and chicken lovers for starters - beautiful flavours. Trout was our mains choice - dresh and light. And a well priced bill at the end! Book in advance.

Thought I would order trout as we were in trout country. Excellent choice! My partner ordered the chicken thai curry and was a bit disappointed - I had to agree it looked and tasted bland. We shared the peanut butter ice cream with caramel sauce - yet another excellent choice. Lovely setting.

Quirky and interesting decor. Full and varied menu. Beef empanada and stuffed calamari piping hot and delicious. Beautifully presented and served with crisp, fresh salad. Personal service - just remember the old adage of "good food takes time to prepare! Excellent light lunch. Thank you.

Creative, but never eccentric recipes are served in a warm room. The staff is very friendly and passionate. And they love Italy!

We recently visited Mrs Simpson on way to Limpopo. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the stuffed calamari as starter and the Thai Chicken and Prawn Curry as main. The food is very tasty and the service was excellent. The chef is obviously someone who has a passion for food and makes sure that every bite is a taste... More
