I was on a coach trip and I think the tour manager had phoned ahead to Penny's to tell them to expect 30 people for breakfast. I don't know if they had got extra staff in for the occasion, but the service was quick and friendly and I had a classic American breakfast in a classic diner. Vaughn seems to... More

The only place to eat in Vaughan Penny's is a classic replica of old time diners. My husband and I split a Club Sandwich. It was okay and the contents generous but fell apart when we ate it. Menu is typical with blue plate specials, many of them Mexican since it's located in the SW. A plate of Nachos with... More

We were coming from Fort Stockton to Santa Fe for the International Folk Art Market and in the small town of Vaughn, only a cross roads but with my TripAdvisor app I found Penny's and was not disappointed. With the family we had the special hamburger, green chilies hot dog, enchiladas and Philly cheese steak. All were real old fashion... More

This diner is the only show in town. The food is good. Service was ok, but since we were the only ones in the diner, I guess they expected us to "yell" if we wanted anything.

My wife and I live in Houston and drive to Santa Fe twice a year for vacation. There are many ways to go -- through Dallas and Amarillo....or by taking HIghway 36 and going through Abilene and Lubbock, or Interstate 10 to Fort Stockton and then north, which is the only route we take since we discovered Penny's. We love... More

Excellent fare for the price. Not only is this the only restaraunt in Vaughn, but it is probably the only restaraunt for 50 miles in any direction. Having that kind of monopoly one might ask "why would they care"? Apparrently they do. They were happy to make some off-menu items for me and the green chili cheese burger competes with... More

Nobody in the kitchen is going all Cooking Channel on you here -- the fare covers all the bases of a standard diner. That said, the ambiance is adorable -- it's a retro diner they bought in a kit. You look out at the busy railroad tracks -- the heart of Vaughn and an important part of its history. (Lots... More

The item ordered was nothing like it has been in the four previous Penny's I've frequented When asked, the employees were extremely rude. I left without finishing the disgusting food. My fellow employees were still eating when I left, and observed the three employees working laughing about me and making jokes. Shameful.
