A little comfort in Vaughn.

On my way to Albuquerque with a party of 6 very hungry guys. The food was on time positions were ok and staff very friendly would pass through again. A must visit in Vaughn NM.

I have eaten at this place many times. If you are hungry in Vaughn, this place is one of two choices to eat if you do not consider the gas station. I like the setup as you can sit at the counter and watch the food preparation. I feel that hygiene practices in a restaurant are as important as the... More

Stayed next door at the Oak Tree Inn, had both breakfast and dinner here. Exactly as advertised- classic American food served up with nostalgia. Good small town greasy spoon joint, big portions!

I love American Diners and try to stop at them whenever I can. Living close to Historic Route 66 I have seen many of these chrome plated American Icons featured on food shows. Such is one that I have driven past for many years as I traveled through Vaughn New Mexico. Vaughn is one of those old time railroad towns... More

We pass Penny's Diner several times a year, and rarely stop in Vaughn for anything but gas. My family of four has been there twice and we like it a lot. If you are traveling out in the middle of nowhere that is eastern New Mexico, it is a nice stop along the way. The menu is varied and is... More

Old fashioned diner that has a great feel and atmosphere, and the food that we had was fantastic. My wife had a bowl of the vegetable beef soup. It was a huge bowl, and good. I had one of the best roast beef sandwiches I've ever had. The boys enjoyed a hamburger basket and pancakes. Their chocolate shake and hot... More

2 years ago we stopped here for a cheeseburger. It was great. Decided to stop again 12/19/2014 to try it again. Still a good solid tasting green chili cheeseburger and great fries. Cute diner atmosphere with friendly service and served with a smile. Suprising in such an out of the way place as Vaughn, NM.

Stopped here on purpose because of the reviews. Yeah it's a kitschy diner, with zero old diner charm. The waitress was absentminded at best, at worst she was just negligent. The food was insanely overpriced for standard diner fare. It was also cold, bland and super awful. The pancakes were huge, and heavy, dense grossness. The hash browns were literally... More
