Good home cooking

My husband and I got into Vaughn late and found this cute little diner! The food was very good and the waitress was very nice and sweet! And they're open 24 hours!

Kinda covered this in my hotel review but ... The food is good and the staff is very friendly. If I have to do 100 characters ... The decor is cute.

We were passing through Vaughn headed north out of Roswell looking and hoping to find a place to have dinner. We spotted Penny’s and pulled in. I always wanted to eat in a diner that looked like a stainless steel railroad diner’s car. I was not disappointed in the interior either. A long counter with stools and booths along the... More

Food was good and friendly service. The dinner is also the front desk for the Oak Tree Inn. Not much in Vaughn for eats so do not pass it up!

Peggy's Diner looked too "new" to be an authentic diner from the past. I asked. It is a prefab reproduction, but the atmosphere is pretty nostalgic. I ordered a BLT and a malt. The sandwich was below average (very little bacon, almost no tomato, and tiny bread slices) and the malt was runny. The food is over priced - more... More

We were traveling from Roswell NM to San Angelo TX and were looking for some diner. Had stopped for gas at the station at the north end of town and asked if there was some place to eat in town as the twon was looking mostly like a ghost town. I was told that Penny's Diner was the only place... More

I have eaten at this place many times. If you are hungry in Vaughn, this place is one of two choices to eat if you do not consider the gas station. I like the setup as you can sit at the counter and watch the food preparation. I feel that hygiene practices in a restaurant are as important as the... More

Stayed next door at the Oak Tree Inn, had both breakfast and dinner here. Exactly as advertised- classic American food served up with nostalgia. Good small town greasy spoon joint, big portions!
