Solidly average food and service, this place definitely won't blow you away with anything above par. The enchiladas were small and buried under gallons of sauce. The service was below adequate, (do chips and water cost that much to refill?!). The paintings in the restaurant make for an interesting visit, however the overall atmosphere was disjointed. A huge projector was... More

This was recommended to me by a local. It is a good place to go for Mexican food. It had regular stuff too, I think the special was prime rib and they had a salad bar. Service was a little slow. But the staff was friendly and the food was pretty good. They do have a van, because it is... More

Plain and simple, it was a fun dinner. The Mexican food was good, especially the sopapillas she brought for desert. The waitress was really a lot of fun. It wasn't busy at almost 9PM that Saturday evening, so she had time to give us special attention. There were four of us, on an almost 4,000 mile motorcycle trip. This was... More

They have a pretty good soup and salad bar. The mexican food is fairly unimaginative. We ordered a margarita which is just okay it seemed to be lacking something.

We had the stuffed sopapillas and combination plate. The red and green chili sauces were New Mexico authentic with such spice my nose was running. Loved it. No wimpy flavors here. However the cocktails and wine list need work. I'd go back!

Stopped in Tucumcari for some sightseeing and this place was recommended by some locals. We ate dinner here and loved the food. The staff and service were great. Great memory on our trip.

I was in town on a Sunday and found all other restaurants on Route 66 closed but this one. The food was good, the servers were polite and fun to be around. The eating area is on one side and the bar on the other side. Locals and tourists filled the place and everyone enjoyed being there. The price is... More

Everyone who visits Tucumcari seems to love this place and the owners of the Blue Swallow highly recommend it as well. It's mediocre Mexican. Greasy, not super flavorful, a bit pricey for what you get, and just not that great quality. The margaritas were quite good and we got a 10% discount for staying at the Blue Swallow.

Ate here on the recommendation of the Motel owner. Bad decision. I had enchiladas that seemed to have been under a warming lamp for hours. Very tough, no taste, and almost could not cut with a knife. Wife had the daily special which was Prime Rib. She ordered rare and received well done with the explanation that when they reheated... More

It may have been the timing (later evening; weekday), but nothing stood out about this place. Waited about 25 minutes for a single dish that came out just warm...wondered if it had been in the window a while. There were 9 or so tables with diners in the restaurant and 5 already had food. Staff was friendly but only came... More
