I dined on the patio and enjoyed the food very much. What stands out to me is the veggies, which were just done perfectly! Not mushy and too crunchy... just so well done. The patio was beautiful, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the street even though it was close by. I enjoyed this place and hope to... More

Stopped in on a rainy afternoon and ordered wine and a beer. Ordered bruschetta with a tasty basil tomato topping. Shrimp with delicious, fresh green beans and salmon with a delicious sauce. If I were to return to Taos, I would try a salad. Lots from which to choose. Service was friendly and prompt.

Just came back from a hike, so we did have time to dress our finest. Staff was not friendly and they never came around to check on us or refill drinks. The menu listed my meal of soup and salad came with bread, but I never got it. The food did not taste exceptional, considering the prices. Could have gone... More

This place was way too pricy for its food and service. We were practically the only people there for dinner and the service was terrible. Not only did we have to wait forever for our food, the waiter was almost rude and at best absent. Best thing about it was the art on the walls.

My friend and I were in Taos for a photography vacation. We were there on Easter, so we were happy to find this delightful restaurant open for dinner. We had excellent food and service. Later, when I discovered that my phone was lost, we returned to the restaurant, and the staff, including our waiter, were very helpful in looking for... More

I ate here once with some friends, quite a while ago. The food was good. I had a very nice chicken sandwich. When it came time for dessert, my friend wanted pie. No pie.

Although there is a limited menu, I was able to find something to order. Many of the restaurants in Taos serve spicy food which I do not eat. This cafe served delicious grilled dinners in a warm atmosphere, reasonably priced. The waitstaff was pleasant and attentive.

Went for dinner, almost did an about face because the place was empty. Glad we risked it and went in: The layout with all the little rooms made the place more cozy. Food was fresh and well prepared. Service was relaxed but attentive. All in all a pleasant dining experience. Outdoor patio is probably nice in warmer weather.

We stumbled upon Cafe Renato today while exploring Taos and decided we needed lunch. We were delighted to find this wee gem, with creaky wooden floors, and enjoyed a lovely, tasty lunch. Very pleasant service, and for Taos, reasonably priced. We'd go back, except we leave tomorrow.

In a town filled with New Mexican fare, steakhouses it is easy to overlook Caffe Renato. We've been coming to Taos several weeks a year for a decade but somehow missed this gem with real Italian food. Accommodating, attentive waitstaff, the Renato salad with walnuts, dried cranberries, feta, and more was a great start, and our main pastas did not... More
