Courtyard setting perfect for lunch

There are many small restaurants in the center of town, but this one offers a quaint garden setting surrounding the adobe building. Lots of food and drink options from sandwiches to salads and Mexican entrees. Service is excellent. A really enjoyable stop before you resume walking around town.

I was curious about the place, in spite of the fact that it was always empty when I drove by. It's very quaint and in a great spot. Unfortunately, I think that because the customers are so sporadic, it's unlikely the food is fresh. Between 2 of us, we had calamari, spaghetti, and a salad. The calamari looked like frozen... More

This was a surprise. Lots of varied items on menu and good value. Tasty meals and nice personal service. A must for you to check out. In the heart of everything nice about Taos.

Ate there on a rainy day. The soup of the day was corn chowder. Neither of us could eat the soup as it was very greasy. The chicken on my sandwich tasted odd, so I didn't finish that. The only time we saw our waiter again was when he brought the check and didn't even bother to ask us if... More

We stopped in for a very late lunch. Met by a friendly waiter. Full menu available. I had the best onion soup ever. There's a beautiful outdoor terrace and a facinating handicraft shop next door, Adean Software with handmade products from South America.

First of all, we had a late lunch, so most help had gone home--so the owner took care of us outside in a nice cafe type atmosphere facing the street. It was a good view--watching people walk by and watching the traffic slowly drive by. The owner is a cool dude! And, the XM-Sirius satellite radio of the 80s quietly... More

We dined on a Sun in an almost empty restaurant after skiing. They were out of their draft beer, but had bottled beers. I ordered the Penne Arrabiata, which came with a nice chunky and quite spicy red sauce - delicious. Our kid had the meat balls which he finished completely. That doesn't always happen. My wife had the soup... More

My boyfriend and I are students at UNM Taos. While on a break before my last class, we decided to venture to the Plaza to grab something to eat before heading back. It was around 4pm, and most of the local restaurants around there were already closed or closing. Bummed, we headed further up to try the Adobe bar and... More

Although the food was not bad, the waiting time was too long. After we left the restaurant, I realized they cheated on my bill. I did check the (5) items we ordered, and they were correct on the itinerary bill. However, they cheated on the total amount.

My husband and I stopped through Taos as part of our drive of The Enchanted Circle. Having been to Taos quite a few times and while we love spending time there, we just decided to stop in at Caffe Renato since it was off of the main square = the craziness that was the day after Thanksgiving. The first thing... More
