I ate here with my family this past week-end. The expensive salad I ordered was NOT good and I sent it back. When they brought our check, they actually said, "We don't usually charge if you send something back, but we all tasted the salad and there was nothing wrong with it." Can you believe this?? I asked to speak... More

We were specifically looking for patio dining and decided to try Caffe Renato. Located close enough to the Plaza (yet on the main road) the patio was shady and cool and afforded a fun people watching experience during our meal. Service was a little slow as was food delivery but when it was served, the food was delicious. I had... More

Wow, where do I begin! We ate at Caffe Renato for the first (and last) time tonight. May I just say that I have never, in all of my years dining out been so appalled by a restaurant experience. To begin, our server was un-attentive, although there was only one other table filled, and our drinks went un-filled while we... More

On a busy Monday in Taos(really?)., we stumbled across Caffe Ranato. App was a perfectly prepared shrimp and corn salsa, truly outstanding. Served with a good Pinot Grigio . For the main course Penne Arabiatta, served el dente with a nice fairly spicy sauce and an amazing sangenovese . Dessert was an incredible chocolate torte which again paired well with... More

Although the wait staff was very friendly and accommodating, that's where it ended. The red wine was served too cold, the green beans were mushy, the shrimp was small and tasted as if came from the frozen section at the supermarket (I do realize we are very far from the source of shrimp, but come on) they were out of... We were looking for pasta and bread (carb loading for altitude and skiing) and we happened upon this place. The menu is simple, but very elegantly prepared. Everything was fresh and steaming hot when it arrived at our table. Flavors were top notch.

Grabbed an outdoor table with two hungry 4 year olds. Nice wait staff. Ordered a salad and a chicken sandwich..both were excellent..split both orders with our two kids, bill was around $35 or so including a few Heinekens. Would eat there again. r there

I dined on the patio and enjoyed the food very much. What stands out to me is the veggies, which were just done perfectly! Not mushy and too crunchy... just so well done. The patio was beautiful, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the street even though it was close by. I enjoyed this place and hope to... More

Stopped in on a rainy afternoon and ordered wine and a beer. Ordered bruschetta with a tasty basil tomato topping. Shrimp with delicious, fresh green beans and salmon with a delicious sauce. If I were to return to Taos, I would try a salad. Lots from which to choose. Service was friendly and prompt.

Just came back from a hike, so we did have time to dress our finest. Staff was not friendly and they never came around to check on us or refill drinks. The menu listed my meal of soup and salad came with bread, but I never got it. The food did not taste exceptional, considering the prices. Could have gone... More
