Some yummy food in the sun!

First of all, we had a late lunch, so most help had gone home--so the owner took care of us outside in a nice cafe type atmosphere facing the street. It was a good view--watching people walk by and watching the traffic slowly drive by. The owner is a cool dude! And, the XM-Sirius satellite radio of... read more

We dined on a Sun in an almost empty restaurant after skiing. They were out of their draft beer, but had bottled beers. I ordered the Penne Arrabiata, which came with a nice chunky and quite spicy red sauce - delicious. Our kid had the meat balls which he finished completely. That doesn't always happen. My wife had the soup... More

My boyfriend and I are students at UNM Taos. While on a break before my last class, we decided to venture to the Plaza to grab something to eat before heading back. It was around 4pm, and most of the local restaurants around there were already closed or closing. Bummed, we headed further up to try the Adobe bar and... More

Although the food was not bad, the waiting time was too long. After we left the restaurant, I realized they cheated on my bill. I did check the (5) items we ordered, and they were correct on the itinerary bill. However, they cheated on the total amount.

My husband and I stopped through Taos as part of our drive of The Enchanted Circle. Having been to Taos quite a few times and while we love spending time there, we just decided to stop in at Caffe Renato since it was off of the main square = the craziness that was the day after Thanksgiving. The first thing... More

...I want to warn off other unsuspecting diners. Looking at the rave reviews, I have to assume we were there on an 'off' night. I know how hard it is to run a good restaurant, and I always try to give the benefit of doubt to the restaurant but, honestly, we had the worst, worst meal there. We took a... More

We have been going to Taos from our home in Silver City for five years, and have dined at Caffe Renato each time. Caffe Renato is probably the most consistently good restaurant that we have had the pleasure to dine in. The owner, Renato, prepares delicious Italian food, always piping hot, and good portion sizes. In fact, when ordering pasta... More

I ate here with my family this past week-end. The expensive salad I ordered was NOT good and I sent it back. When they brought our check, they actually said, "We don't usually charge if you send something back, but we all tasted the salad and there was nothing wrong with it." Can you believe this?? I asked to speak... More

We were specifically looking for patio dining and decided to try Caffe Renato. Located close enough to the Plaza (yet on the main road) the patio was shady and cool and afforded a fun people watching experience during our meal. Service was a little slow as was food delivery but when it was served, the food was delicious. I had... More

Wow, where do I begin! We ate at Caffe Renato for the first (and last) time tonight. May I just say that I have never, in all of my years dining out been so appalled by a restaurant experience. To begin, our server was un-attentive, although there was only one other table filled, and our drinks went un-filled while we... More
