It is a cafeteria....but this is real authentic mexican food. Clean. Perfect. Don't let the fact that it doesn't look upscale throw you. If you want authentic for good price this is 5 stars. Came here from CO looking for the real deal and weren't disappointed.

The food is great quality and tasted like real deal Mexican. The wait to order was a bit long, as the waiter at the counter takes the order and the money but is also the bartender. This caused the line to grow unneccesarily. The wait is worth it, but they could do better if they had a dedicated order taker... More

The competition is tough in Taos, but if what you want is just good New Mexican food without paying extra for ambiance this is what you were looking for. The place is hard to spot from the road, so slow down when you get close. There is lots of parking for your RV and plenty of seating inside. There is... More

Every dish looks to have an over abundance of onions. It seems to be the main ingredient for many of their dishes. They do a brisk business. If you don't mind standing in line to order your food, go for it.

The Guadalajara Grill offers the most authentic Mexican food I have tried. My cousin, a native Taos resident, let me know there is New Mexican food and Mexican food. This place is Mexican. They have the best fish tacos anywhere. Also, available are peppers to have with your order. This place is a must go for the real deal. The... More

I've been to this location of the Guadalajara Grill several times and have even brought out-of-town guests here. The service is always fast, even when the place is packed. (Diners order at the counter, then are given a number to place on their table. Staff brings the freshly prepared food to the table.) I do like the decor better at... More

Took forever to order at the counter and the trip to wash my hands was long and frustrated by a lack of paper towels in the rest room. Food appeared quickly, though. My enchiladas were fine, but I thought the tortillas were a bit soggy. My husband’s chile relleno was HUGE, very heavily breaded and a touch undercooked. Rice and... More

Visiting Taos on vacation, we decided to stop here based on the reviews. We had the barbacoa tacos and the beef enchiladas with red chili. The place does NOT live up to the reviews. Let's start with the positive: service was prompt and accurate, the restaurant was clean. Having said that, the food was bland. There was no spice or... More

The folks where we stayed recommended this place and one other for our first night in town. My wife and I had the fajitas, beef and chicken. The beef was cut into shoe-string size strips and was crispy. The chicken was over cooked and dry. The rice was tasteless and the beans were equally bland. The margaritas and the staff... More
