Great Little Saloon Type Bar and Restaurant

Had lunch here after touring all morning. Service was great, atmosphere was quaint and old saloon like. Had a great bowl of Pork Green Chili. There is a pool table in an adjacent room but we ate in the regular bar/restaurant area. My husband had the Cobb salad and it was especially good since... read more

Located in centre of town. Has a rich history and part of building is very old. Service good. Food quality and price good. Very good chance to hear the locals as a cast of colourful characters comes here. We really liked it.

There is a nice outside seating area, but it was full of smokers. So we went inside. Service is lackadaisical. Food is pretty bland. The house salad was a standard mix of greens and some tomato. The green chili was OK and the chicken tortilla soup was somewhat flavorless. There was no reason to go back. Ho and hum.

This was our second visit to Taos Plaza so we decided to eat where we ate last year. The atmosphere is nice and the food is good. We had chicken quesadillas and chili relleno. Another couple recommended the fish and chips. We will give that a try next time.

This little hole-in-the-wall place is good for a rest from shopping on the plaza. Happy hour is the time to go for a beer or a margarita and good nachos. Don't expect too much in the way of service- because the people who work at the cantina are old hippie types. But that's part of the charm of this place.... More

Go for the little history lesson on the menu and a margarita. I won't stay for anything more. The tortilla chips were fried in-house, but the salsa was very weak. The guacamole wasn't bad and decent serving size. Aside from that, the menu is bar food and didn't look appealing.

This is one of if not the oldest building in Taos. We ate out on the patio since the weather was perfect. We all ordered the carne adovado. It was delicious !! And very filling. A little spicy but just the right amount. The Cesar salad was the right cooling touch. Service was expedient and friendly .

Tried to sit outside, but the smoke was overpowering. This looked like a place for local hippies of yesterday.

We decided to eat here just on a whim. It was time to eat and we found ourselves in front of this restaurant, so we decided to give it a try. The story of the place on the back of the menu is quite a story. As it turns out, it is one of the oldest places in Taos! The... More

We stopped in while visiting the plaza at Taos NM. The service was great and the food was very good. Am sure at night my be more of a jumping party place than it was middle of the afternoon but we were pleased with the quality of the food and service. Put it on our list of places to return... More
