Interesting ambiance, a bit Bohemian perhaps, but borderline too cold (late November) for comfort. Definitely could be warmer inside, maybe it does warm up later in the evening. Good beer list as previous reviewer mentions, limited wine offerings. The nuts and olives appetizer was tasty (spiced almonds and cashews, a small cup of marinated black and green olives), but quite... More

We have several good things to report as well as a few shortcomings. First, expect a great beer and wine list. There are many fantastic German and Belgian beers to choose from and a very reasonably priced, though short, wine list. As for starters, we had the house salad (very good, especially the goat cheese) and the mussels (excellent -... More

We had long wanted to dine at this quirky little place. We took the opportunity late summer 2015. As others have stated it is Scott that makes this place. It is like you are at the chef's table. The halibut was very well prepared but the chicken breast was a little dry. Overall the price was a steep for the... More

We (a group of 10) had a reservation on a Saturday night. I came here once before back in 1996 and remember it fondly 19 years later. We were personally taken care of by the chef, Skott. The food was outstanding. My personal favorite was the mussels. It was a wonderful evening. It felt like we had our own personal... More

The owner took our 7:00 Thursday reservation, greeted us, sat us, took our order, served us, collected our bill and then pulled up a chair and chatted with us for an hour. He has a chef, but not sure how much the owner contributes to the cooking. My sister had the halibut, which she gushed over for two days .I... More

Scott is the mastermind in the kitchen and will serve you, because Byzantium is Scott's inspiration. A dimly lit, romantic restaurant with a small but excellent menu. I love the warm spinach salad, and have had beautifully prepared fish and meat dishes. Great wine selection, and leave room for dessert, because Scott usually has something that is the perfect ending... More

Great food, beautiful ambiance. The owner was our server, and he was very attentive. The halibut rocked!

Amazing. Amazing. Amazing! I fell in Love with this gem the second I walked through the door! Very intimate. Gorgeous decor. Very comfortable and a feel of home. Food was exquisite! We shared a bottle of red. I had the mussels and he had the pork. OMG!!! The best mussels I have ever had and I'm from California! The pork... More

Located in the central part of town, Byzantium is a gem. Although the restaurant is in a spacious room, there are a total of approximately 7 tables, giving you a lot of room and privacy. My guess is that the limited number of seats is because it is a two-man operation; the owner is the maitre d and waiter while... More
