Every town has its "go to" breakfast joints. In Taos locals and travelers alike all converge on Michael's Kitchen. Located just north of the Plaza area on he main drag going up to the Taos Ski area Michael's serves up heaping amounts of good food. If you opt for a cinnamon roll, split it. Large, sweet, and gooey. Huevos Rancheros... More

Went in for breakfast. I had the breakfast enchilada, which was hot, well prepared and I had covered with red and green chile. Good. My problem was trying to eat it with a fork: the cheese and chile kept dripping down (ask for a bib next time?). Wife had biscuits and gravy. Biscuits were great, but the gravy was disappointing,... Went for breakfast this morning, 7/15, lots of tables available. No sooner did we sit when the waitress asked if we were ready to order. Calm down lady get me some coffee first. Food wasn't anything special and eggs not cooked as ordered. And of course no sooner than it looked like we were finished when she tried to rush... More

We've been to Michael's before when in Taos and they don't disappoint. The baked goods are heavenly and very reasonably priced. We've had good breakfast and lunch here.

My wife & I have eaten there several times for breakfast and lunch and will eat there again. This restaurant has been there for decades and has the reputation of being a favorite for "locals". We have had mixed success with lunches there but never experienced anything but satisfaction when ordering from the breakfast menu. There is a wonderful bakery... More

Very good breakfast served here with fresh baked goods as well. Staff is very attentive, right there to fill your empty cup or glass. Food comes fast and is very tasty. Love the green chile but that is New Mexico and they do it good here. The vegetarian is the best. Nice amount of heat.

Was told this was "THE" place to eat in Taos. Seriously??? Long line. Sticky table tops. Dishes were old and silverware was questionably clean. Maybe ordered the wrong thing?? Had a BLT on dry bread. Asked for extra crispy fries and got extra crispy bacon instead. One of us had Chips and salsa - chips were stale. All and all,... More

This had to be the eating highlight of our NM trip - The authentic amazing food with green chills, the bakery treat of a chocolate-filled croissant, the sopaipillas with honey-butter - I don't know when I've eaten so much at one sitting and enjoyed licking my plate clean. A MUST if you are in Taos, NM

Open faced turkey sandwich with gravy and mashed potatoes sounds good, but with 3 pieces of thin sliced deli turkey, I don't think so. Almost no flavor and certainly not enough deli turkey to put on a childs sandwich, I can only imagine the open faced beef sandwich with 3 thin slices of deli beef. Tried to make up for... More

Great place for breakfast and pastry. Service was good in this very popular spot. Try the vegetarian omelet., it is not only beautiful but tasty. The decor is someplace between cafe and diner but don't let that stop you. It is a great experience.
