Looking for dinner on a Sunday night in winter months in Taos was tricky since many restaurants were closed. We stumbled upon Casa de Valdez and were so pleasantly surprised. Very good margaritas, interesting menu combining BBQ with Mexican food. Everything we had was delicious and our waitress was full of smiles, After dinner, we moved to the small bar... More

good food, good service and pleasant interior. Initial impressions of exterior was off putting. We drove off. Glad we went back.

Just left and we are both satiated. My husband had a "build your own burger" (his #1 favorite food) with sauteed onions and cheddar cheese. He had a caesar salad as his side and a Santa Fe Nut Brown Ale. He was very pleased. I had the smoked brisket, which was remarkably tender, flavorful and moist. I chose the regular... More

Besides a good size portion of meaty baby back ribs with 2 sides from a good selection, the Mexican entrees came with sopapillas and honey. We ordered another one for desert. Good food and service.

Service was very poor and started when we walked in the door. We had to ask 3 times for a glass of water, but the server was more interested in talking to a young man. She was ignorant and couldn't answer any questions about the menu. Sangria was like watered down fruit punch. The food was just okay. We ate... More

Thank you so much for dining with us on your second trip to Taos. I am glad you had a good experience last year and patronized us again this year. However, I do apologize for the bad service you encountered this time around. Our wait staff is required to be knowledgeable of our menu before coming on board, so there... More

The food and service were very good. Especially the Chili Rellenos. We just stopped there on a whim, and were happy with the service and food.

While we had delicious New Mexican dishes (steak fajitas were especially tasty), it took awhile before anyone came to take our drink & appetizer order. And when they did, they forgot the guacamole we had ordered. I don't know if the waiter was new but he seemed nervous and mixed up a few things. But the food was so good... More

We had a great dinner, but didn't enjoy the New Mexico wine. The combination plate was a great choice and extremely tasty. The service was excellent and the waiter was very attentive.

Nice little restaurant. Was clean and the service was good. The food was good but the beans and rice didn't have much flavor. Would not recommend the margaritas. Overall a very good experience.
