Fresh Middle-Eastern food

Awesome falafel and other middle-eastern standards in a quiet low-light setting. Service can be hit or miss.

The regular menu is foolproof; you can order anything and be pleased. But I have learned to always try the creative specials offered. They are sheer genius! One of my all-time favorite restaurants. GF folks: They have amazing GF bread!

We had lunch here. Very good falafel sandwich and good curry. The waitress was very pleasant and it was an enjoyable lunch. We will definitely return.

This was my second trip to El Gamal and I was surprised to find I had forgotten to review it the first time. Everything I've had at this eatery has been fantastic. Its selection of Mediterranean fare is wide and can fit any taste. The garlic hummus is amazing, as is the portabello pita sandwich. The smokey eggplant was extremely... More

I eat breakfast here almost every Friday because in addition to a great breakfast you can buy a fresh Challa Bread to take home with you. Everything is made fresh (pita, bagels, even the jam). This Challa Bread is so good that I crave it when I'm not in Taos. The servers are friendly and there is even a pet... More

This is a wonderful hippy dippy restaurant with lots of veggie choices. It attracts an eclectic crowd from young to old. Food was quite tasty.

You can't tell when you are standing on the outside, that entering El Gamal is like entering another world. The outside patio beckons with it's striped awning and stand of sunflowers. Out here there are tan arty looking people sitting in this cheerful shade, chatting, drinking beer and reading books while eating hummus and fresh-baked (gluten-free if you like) pita.... More

We were heading down the block to another place highly rated but had to walk by this place. We only got 50 ft. beyond and turned around. Really good food. Reasonably priced. Good friendly service. My reason for not giving 5 stars is ther's no ac and it was HOT inside. Luckily we were able to set on the pagio.... More

Our noses lead us to their doorstep for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon in Taos! What a wonderful surprise. Casual and quirky, informal and funky, friendly and comfortable describe this hidden gem. Our waiter patiently described all of the intriguing offerings to us and made wonderful recommendations that made us very happy. I would return for further exploration... More
