We travel all over the US and around the world, eating at everything from very expensive to cheap restaurants...our main criteria is tasty well-prepared locally sourced food with good service. This was our first time to Taos and this restaurant. After making a reservation via phone, we went online to look at some reviews. We almost cancelled our reservation after... More

Every time we visit Taos, we eat dinner at The Love Apple. Every item on the menu is wonderful. The cornbread will spoil you as you will never eat cornbread like this anywhere else. This time, we tried the rainbow trout and the beef tacos. Both excellent! The service was great and the atmosphere is perfect!

We visit Taos once a year for the last 5-6 years, and had missed getting to the Love Apple until now, and sorry it took this long. The food is amazing, and the restaurant is a warm and beautiful space - an old church. Had the tacos, my wife had the trout both great. We opted for 3 appetizers since... More

What a great find! Must make a reservation particularly for a Sunday night when lots of others closed. Great character as well as great food and wonderful service at reasonable prices - even a very well priced (and large pour) wines by the glass. Interesting food items well prepared and fresh. Charming restaurant - would highly recommend for any pallete.... More

The Love Apple is located about a mile north of the plaza and reservations are recommended. They do not accept credit cards but do accept cash and checks for payment. They are open for dinner only. We enjoyed a delicious meal with an excellent wine, a salad of greens, pecans, and goat cheese, and the ruby rainbow trout which is... More

My family returned to Taos for a second visit- this time with young teen daughter. What a nice addition to the foodie scene. This nook is worth a try with a simple and elegant French atmosphere. Perfect for couples or groups of friends- the most sophisticated teens won't appreciate a earl grey soda. The bacon wrapped dates were wonderful w... More

Ate there with a group of family members in from out of town. Heirloom tomato soup is to die for. My trout was some of the best I have ever eaten. My husband did not enjoy his beef soft tacos, the spices were weird (too much cumin?) and the tacos underneath seemed to be made of dough and a bit... More

My wife and I visited, particularly on strong recommendations from Trip Advisor. I had the trout, my wife had chicken. The trout was fresh but lacked in any real taste. We were charged for an iced tea that we ordered but didn't drink (taste was not to our liking). We also ordered the chocolate cake desert and were surprised by... More

My fiancee and I just enjoyed an amazing dinner at The Love Apple. There was plenty of parking and the hostess kindly helped us find the restaurant when my iPhones GPS took us to the wrong location. We had a table inside the restaurant (there is also outdoor courtyard setting). The inside is charming and romantic. The restaurant was once... More

The white on white decor is so beautiful. Food and service were awesome. We received free yummy cornmeal muffins and marinated tomatoes because our table opened 10 minutes late. Be sure to order the bacon wrapped dates and shishito pepper appetizers. Corn husk trout was delicious too!
