Charming but is that enough?

The Love Apple is a favorite of many. It is my favorite for ambiance. Menu is hit or miss and service is less than optimum. They do have the best wine selection in Taos by the bottle. I had one of the best salads ever - shaved raw beets, grapefruit and avocado - not original but so perfectly... read more

We stopped for dinner before we headed to taos ski valley. I found it on trip advisor. I called before we went. It was lovely place. The price is right. Everything is great. The staffs are friendly and fast. It was Friday night, and there was no seat left. Call before you go!

My husband & I had been hearing about the Love Apple for a couple of years now & finally decided to visit ourselves. When we called to make a reservation they informed us it was cash only. I was a little surprised due to the prices on the menu. We usually don't carry that much cash with us. The food... More

We stumbled on this gem on the north side of Taos, and were not able to get in until 9:15. the place was still full at that point, and the experience made it clear why. THe first thing you see when you walk in is the kitchen--open and exposed to patrons. we were greeted by the head chef, and at... More

A foodie haven that isn't fancy.... Yet passes as upscale. Food quality is excellent with some funky options like antelope. Vegetarian mole plate is the closest thing to a southwest angle. Appetizer are fabulous. Set in an old church this place is excellent

The Love Apple was the highlight dining experience of our 1200 mile honeymoon ski trip. On a drive from Boulder, through Salida, Pagosa Springs, and then Taos, we were quite hungry for thoughtfully prepared, excellent food, and we found that, with a memorable dining experience at The Love Apple. The atmosphere is beautiful in an historic church, they source from... More

This is a kooky restaurant in an old church. The service was excellent and the food was fancy and very good. Funky appetizers, like corn muffins. For the main course, some of us had the antelope and some had the quail. Good wine selection. A unique and positive experience.

The problem with the Love Apple, is that you can never be quite sure what to expect. Will our server be attentive, will the menu have changed, will the food be "good". We've visited the Love Apple on many occasions, and while the atmosphere is always lovely, the experience can vary greatly. On our last visit, the wait staff was... More

This is a very small intimate restaurant where you can actually talk in a normal tone of voice. Reservations are a must! Located in and old catholic church the decorations are minimal but the food was excellent and not Mexican. We had a mushroom terrain that was yummy followed by trout which was well prepared. The service was very attentive.... More

I know that this is a restaurant that prides itself in being organic. That is a great feature, yet when you get dirt crunch with every bite of salad, it becomes a negative experience. The menu rarely changes and is overpriced..
